Women entrepreneurs — like me, like you — are a complicated “breed” of woman. We’re big thinkers, fast movers, constant dreamers, consistent movers, and always up to something.
I have found that we don’t FEAR FAILURE…
as much as we FEAR various aspects of SUCCESS.
Will success overwhelm us? Will it interfere too much with motherhood or our down time or our commitment to fitness? Will it somehow “change us”– and for the negative? Will success make us too busy to enjoy life?

But, when these fears crop up, it’s not uncommon to find yourself sabotaging your own success… on the down low, of course, with one of these SNEAKY little things that can slow down — or even shut down — your success:
1) You ignore (or delay) those little nudges / ideas / flashes of inspiration.
Today’s inspiration is for today’s action. When you ignore these crazy little ideas, you say no to your inner success navigation system. Ignore it long enough, and it will learn to keep its mouth shut.
2) You put off taking care of “the boss.”
When you don’t take care of YOU… with proper nutrition and daily movement and ample down time… YOU will have to run your empire with low energy, limited confidence and little patience. Take care of the boss… because she has to take care of EVERYTHING else.
3) You constantly look for a new system or certification or process to follow.
Listen, you know what to do. You don’t need yet ANOTHER system to learn, implement and follow. What about your OWN system? What about your OWN ideas? What about your OWN internal process? What about THAT? Don’t ignore your own inner success system. It’s worthy.
4) You do the important work — of course — but “AFTER everything else.”
No wonder you have feast or famine cycles when you only do the marketing and messaging work until you get overwhelmed with clients. =) Do the work that markets YOU… but do it every single day without fail. Otherwise, you have a success PREVENTION system running wildly in your business.
5) You censor yourself so you become more main stream, more boring, less authentic and more “same same.”
Ruthless, unapologetic authenticity is magnetic. And we all have it. Put it on display.
6) You avoid asking people to buy from you, hire you, join your program.
You KNOW it will help them, right? Why not INVITE them to say yes? There’s an ENERGY to selling every single day. I can’t ADEQUATELY put it into words… but if you were to make a COMMITMENT to selling every day, and you tested this for just 14 days, I wouldn’t’ need to say another word.
7) You avoid following up.
The fortune IS in the follow up. Your market is busy. they don’t see EVERY email you send them. They don’t see EVERY Facebook post or live video. So, follow up.
8) You worry about what others think of you.
Uggg… this is the most formidable prison I’ve ever visited. (And I’ve visited a few! lol…) This mentality is unnecessarily paralyzing… and for what? Who CARES what “they” think of you? Who are “they” anyway? And also…. they’re not. (thinking of you, that is.)
9) You deny your soul’s desires… convincing yourself that you don’t need __________________.
Of course you don’t need that LV bag, or that Mont Blanc pen or that new ring. Of course you don’t NEED that “next level” vacation.. but if you WANT it… don’t shy away from it. Let your desire’s GUIDE you to create a reality in which you can — and do — ALWAYS say yes to your desires!
10) You believe that success is hard, painful and a trade off.
Uphill both ways in the snow…
“hard work”
“money doesn’t grow on trees”
and all of that.
Success CAN Be hard.
It can also be FUN and rewarding .
It CAN feel like you’re pushing to exhaustion day after day.
It can ALSO feel like it totally FLOWS.
Listen, true success is a custom build.
It doesn’t have to be a painful, costly trade off. (You CAN have it all.)
11) You don’t follow through on what you KNOW you need to do.
Enough said.
No follow through.
No fortune.
Period.
12) You make it about YOU instead of the people you serve.
It’s ALL about them… the people you serve.
So, focus on them. Pay attention. Listen. Respond. The MORE you look at them, and the less you look at YOU… the faster your success will grow.
13) You justify NOT showing up every single day.
Business is a daily thing.
Marketing is a daily thing.
Selling is a daily thing.
