š© decreased access to talent with increased demands (Why CANT every new hire have a corner office with a view, unlimited time off and no pressure at work? lol…)
š© skyrocketing shipping costs (while deliverability is slow and incompetent)
š© a VERY distracted market being forcefed FEAR of spending, FEAR of showing up, being mocked / labeled for listening to their own gut, etc…

Bad news first: these headwinds will continue and many will get worse. Good news: There is ALWAYS a way to create WILD success on your own terms in ANY industry.

Here are 22 practical ways that any woman in business can grow her business — deliberately — in 2022 (and beyond.) They’re listed in no particular order. Consider it like a buffet that never expires. What will you choose to implement today?
š° Always invite, encourage and reward referrals from existing clients / patients.
Let your people know that you COVET their referrals. Tell them HOW you receive referrals and what these referrals can expect once they are introduced to you. Take away ANY uncertainty or awkwardness.
Also, when your people are THANKING you for the difference you make in their lives, don’t just bask in the glory. š Remind them in these moments that you would love to do the same for THEIR friends / family / co-workers.
As an aside, I tend to DISCOURAGE non-members from referring others to Women Who WOW. If it’s “not for you,” I don’t want you referring to it. Like attracts like. Your EXISTING clients are the BEST source of new business. Hands down.
š° UP the expectations you have of yourself.
My favorite journal prompts are the following:

2) I’m JUST the kind of woman who _______________.
you will never out perform your own self-image…. so forget “finding yourself.” DELIBERATELY re-create yourself in the image of who you are aspiring to be. Before your results are upleveled, your expectations MUST go up. In nearly every area of life, we tend to get what we expect.
š° UP the expectations you have of your market.
I used to talk poorly about my market. š They were cheap. They never referred. They kept me as a “secret weapon.” They were slow to pay, blah, blah, blah…
Finally a bold coach asked me who BROUGHT all of these stingy, cheap people to my door. lol… Of course, it was me. JUST as I deliberately rewrite my inner dialogue about ME, I rewrite — and rewire — my expectations of my market.
Quick tip: When I wanted MORE REFERRALS to women who wow, I set up a way to received them. I set up a private scheduling platform JUST to meet with my member’s friends / family about their business, and to answer questions about WOW. You’ll either be compelled to join us, or not. I have NO vested interest in “convincing” you one way or the other.

Yep, every day.
I do not care what that guru told you. I don’t care about the promises of what WEEKLY conversation can do for your business. DAILY conversation is what grows a healthy, robust and RESILIENT marketing plan.
YES, you still have to sell.
YES, you should deliberately get OFF of social media, arranging conversations with other markets…
but your relationship with your market is critical. Show up for it. Show up for them.
š° Ask for the Sale / Invite them to Buy
Don’t just do your daily make up video. Or your “daily tip” podcast. Don’t just share some quote by some other person. INVITE people to buy. Let them know what to do to gain access to whatever it is you sell.
Because you believe in it right?
You believe it HELPS people?
Makes their lives better in some way?
then don’t “hide your light under a bushel.”
Invite people in.
Ad nauseum.
š° Get on other Stages.
Do you feel like you’re constantly selling to the same people? Well, if you’re showing up on ONLY Your OWN social media platforms… if you’re sending resources ONLY to your own list,
you feel this way for a reason.
Consider who ELSE needs to hear from you. What groups? Which podcasts? Which facebook groups? Which virtual or in person stages could benefit from YOUR special sauce?

Same comments as above, but applied to the written word. People HATE to write, generally. They need content for their blog, their newsletter, their magazine, etc.
š° Give them a REASON To Follow You Home from the Party.
When you do show up on other people’s stages and pages… be sure to tell the audience WHAT they can “get” by following you to your own business home.
What is WAITING for people when they join YOUR list, follow you on social media, start reading YOUR blog?

š° Give Your Market Something They Can’t Get Elsewhere. (You.)
This is about BOLD authenticity. Not jUST about being you… but sharing — SPECIFICALLY — WHAT they can’t get anywhere else. I stand FIRM on the promise:
You can’t get ANYWHERE else,
what you get within the walls of WOW.
There is a REASON our “churn rate” is SO low… why our best — and most accomplished — members stay for SO long.
š° Clarify — and share — WHY your market should choose YOU over any and every other option available to them.
This is an often unasked question
that you MUST include in your marketing and sales message.

š° Have a Business Home You OWN.
Do NOT depend on social media platforms that can shut you down without notice, reason or apology. Have a home with an insurance policy. I made a concerted effort to BREAK my dependence on Facebook about two years ago. I focus on more traditional media outlets, industry journals, email marketing…
MULTI-MEDIA is more necessary today than ever before.

š° Be an Invited & Interesting Guest
Know not ONLY why your market should choose you, but why others should interview you. What can that media outlet (what story, what perspective, what energy) get from YOU but is unlikely to find elsewhere?
š° Connect & Offer Value.
Ask yourself before EVERY public post, “What should a reader / viewer be able to do / understand after watching this?” HAVE A POINT. Give REAL value. Ask questions. Invite conversation. Marketing IS a conversation…. no matter how fancy OR famous you are.
This is ONLY becoming MORE true. TRUE Connection will help you AVOID the recessionary circumstances that will bully MANY small businesses in 2022, and beyond.
š° Be a Lighthouse, not a Search and Rescue Dog.
By its very definition, anything you are chasing is running from you. STOP CHASING. Stand so tall, speak with SUCH conviction, that people come LOOKING for your light. Market in a way that when you DON’T show up one day, people come looking, “Michelle… I read your post with my coffee each morning. Everything okay???”
š° Cut Out Any & ALL Fakery.
This includes PRETENDING that webinar is live when its not. Pretending to be live when you’re not. Pretending to show up when everything is cold, stale and scheduled. This includes PRETENDING you are something / anything you are not.
For the love of all things holy… this also includes acting SHOCKED when you were quoted / featured by a media outlet that you PAID to be in. Uggg and #yuck. Just, yuck.
Also, miss “i’m so humbled by this mention,” the word SPONSORED gives away your little plan. Don’t insult your market with acting surprised. (Side note: this is NOT against pay for play media… it’s against ACTING like it wasn’t bought and paid for.)
If it’s fake,
if it’s inauthentic,
if it’s NOT TRUE,
don’t post it.
š° Have a Ladder of Sorts.
Have a place for your patients, clients or customers to BEGIN.. but also have a way for them to get MORE from you.

š° Talk to Different Markets Differently.
KNOW your market… and tailor your message. When I’m speaking to therapists, I use the word clients. When I am speaking to independent physicians, I use the word patients. I use analogies and examples that resonate with who I am speaking to.
I also SPIN many of my articles for specific niches. Are you a therapist / attorney / coach who would like to see THIS article made SPECIFIC to your industry, just ask. I’m happy to provide it for you.
š° Measure What Matters.
If it matters
(income, sales, conversations, leads, referrals, etc.)
MEASURE it.
(This is another CORE principle of The Women Who WOW Way.) Whether it’s your weight, income, blood pressure or mood… if you measure it, measurement IN ITSELF helps what is being measured improve.)
What will you MEASURE this year? (Income — measured AT LEAST weekly — is the bare minimum. So, what ELSE will you measure?)
š° Associate with Success.
Women who WOW IS the place, the tribe of driven women. WHO you hang around matters. You ARE the average of the people you surround yourself with.
So, associate with success… It IS contagious.
But be careful..

Integrity isn’t just about whether or not you cheat on your spouse or lie in your marketing. Its about whether your ACTIONS line up with what you SAID you were committed to.
When applied to your business goals,

Don’t JUST look at your goals at the beginning of the year. Write out or record an audio (or both) of what life will be like… when you reach those goals. And WALK in that reality every day. My cheering coach called this “visioneering” I think. I BATHE in my chosen reality for a couple of minutes every single day. From THAT perspective, I show up…
