“NOONE is seeing my posts anymore..
I’m being shadow-banned!”
No you’re not. lol..
Look, I don’t REALLY know if you’re being shadow-banned or not (probably not) or whether you just haven’t hit the right buttons to feed the algorithm beast or whether your content is just boring or repetitive AF, and no one is noticing.
BUT here is what I DO know:
Most content creators (businesses, attorneys, coaches, physicians, entrepreneurs, authors) are WAY too reliant on google, facebook, social media, algorithms and advertising. Instead, here are three things you can do to make SURE your content isn’t just seen and digested but also … leads the reader / watcher BACK TO YOU.
1) Write so that if / when you are “shadow-banned” your people are LOOKING for your content. Don’t rely on facebook to put it in their feed… write so that they come LOOKING for you, they come to YOUR page / blog / account.
When no one is reading your stuff, don’t blame “bots” or “censorship.” That’s lazy and ineffective. Look to see where your WRITING / CONTENT may be the problem. 😊 Are you same-same-ing it? Are you teaching with no personality? Are you forgetting the human to human aspect of the social media experience?
2) SHARE the content yourself. Send it across social media profiles. DEFINITELY send it out via email. Send it to friends and colleagues who should see it and pass it on.
From the very beginning of my business journey, I ALWAYS assumed no one would see my articles unless I put it in front of them.
P.S. Want someone to take notice of your content???? QUOTE them in it. 😊 Go direct. Quote them and then send them an email or DM saying, “I quoted you in this recent article.” No matter HOW BIG THE NAME, they come looking!
But bottom line: Don’t WAIT to bee seen and shared…
SHARE it yourself!
3) Gear the article to different industries or niches… and then share it with a few industry journals or facebook groups relating to that niche. Again, a direct, “I wrote this article for NICHE and thought it may benefit your members.” Some of the most profitable articles I’ve ever written were published in small, niche industry journals.
So there you have it.
3 Ways to reduce YOUR dependence on Google, Facebook, social media platforms in general, algorithms you’ll NEVER beat, and advertising that costs a fortune.
