Quick reminder: the work YOU DO,
and want to do,
Matters.
And also, your SUCCESS matters.
To the economy, of course.
And to your family,
and your employees if you have them.
But mainly,
your success matters to YOU.
When women entrepreneurs succeed, our soaring confidence, authenticity and generosity creates MASSIVE ripple effects in the world around us.
But when we fail…
particularly when we keep trying
and keep failing,
we LOSE some confidence. We also tend to lose certainty (about who we are and who we’re meant to be). We tend to shy away from being ALL of who we are, following instead what we believe to be EASIER paths to success. And instead of being GREGARIOUSLY generous, we tend to shrink back and think small.
And THIS
is what motivates me every single day.
To simplify success… so YOU can get there faster and stay there more easily.
The path to being an entrepreneur is now deliberately complicated and many GURUS are being paid BIG MONEY to do it.
This bright shiny object chasing,
and next new “gotta be there” platform pushing,
is affecting
INFECTING too many of us.
And so, at the risk of being ACCURATELY ridiculed of being a simpleton, allow me to present the THREE trimesters of BIRTHING success:
TRIMESTER ONE: PREGNANCY.
Oh you remember THIS trimester, right? That blissful season when your business dreams and goals had YET to be exposed to the harsh realities of the battlefield of business? The trimester when you were plotting and planning, dreaming and scheming with stars in your eyes and hope in your heart?
I remember it too.
And it is an important trimester.
The goal in Trimester ONE is to NOURISH your dream. Feed it with more details, more hope, more optimism. This is where you get to SEE
what is possible
for YOU.
I want you to REMEMBER it,
to see it VIVIDLY,
to see YOU living that dream VIVIDLY.
Because if you can SEE it,
you CAN achieve it.
But also, because there WILL come a day (or two, lol…) when you question whether or not that “dream” was a foolish pursuit…. Whether you think it’s REALLY possible… or at least, really possible for YOU.
And you will need your dreaming and scheming in this trimester is strong enough, vivid enough to keep YOU going when other mere mortals would quit.
You will need to ANCHOR yourself to THIS truth: I dream and I do.
TRIMESTER TWO: BIRTHING DAY.
Eventually,
sooner rather than later if you’re working with me,
there will come a day when you GO PUBLIC with you business dream.
You open your doors,
push play on your launch,
make your offer
or otherwise, bring YOUR dream to market.
Birthdays are fun.
But BIRTHING DAYS
for the women entrepreneurs among us
who have NOT birthed an actual human..
can be long and hard. =)
On BIRTHING day, your “baby” business comes into the world and you realize… THIS thing,
IS MY RESPONSIBILITY.
It’s YOURS.
Your creation.
Your responsibility.
The success or failure of your business
is YOURS.
This business is yours to feed.
It depends on you.
To grow it, direct it, nurture it….
and one day,
let it fly.
Birthing Days are sobering.
They require you to Embrace 100% responsibility.
No one to blame.
No excuses.
Just results.
TRIMESTER THREE: THE DAILY DO-ING.
You envision many things as a mom,
Before you are a mom.
What I never understood nor envisioned was the DAILY-NESS of mom-ing.
This trimester of business is where the dream becomes a reality. But, your business will REQUIRE you to SHOW UP DAILY.
Not in the EXHAUSTING way that mom-ing does,
but daily none-the-less.
This is why I encourage Women Who WOW members to build a marketing engine around something they LOVE to do, around something they have a hard time NOT doing. THEN, the daily showing up is natural, effortless….
and
of course,
effective.
