It’s wildly ironic to me when people come to me to inform me that content marketing NO LONGER works. When the ONLY reason they know I exist is because of… MY OWN content marketing. š
For anyone new to me, I began my biz journey with a $50 investment and now run an internationally celebrated and beloved membership for the SERIOUSLY driven woman entrepreneur. We have members in every state and a hand full of “other countries.”
I do not run ads.
I do not network.
I do not travel very often AT ALL to speak on stages other than my own.
So, HOW do I market and sell?
Content.
LARGELY written, because i’m a writer.
But SOME video, and I should do more.

And I’ve made friends with the media… USING my content.
So if you are spending time and / or money producing content for your site, your YouTube channel, your podcast… if you’re dotting all of your i’s and crossing all of your t’s following some guru’s formula for success on IG or TT…

“isn’t working.”
You are in the right place. I’m going to reveal 5 POSSIBLE reasons your content isn’t generating leads AND driving sales. Very likely, if your content is NOT producing CASH, it’s some combination of these five. (Also, I won’t leave you hanging. I’ll share what to do to turn it around. I’m glad you’re here.)
1) It is NOISY in the online space. It’s chaotic here. There is a self-appointed expert on ev-er-y-thing you can imagine. And between the organic content in our feeds and the ads… it’s just HARD to get people to pay attention.
Additionally, we’re watching “stats” given to us by the beast we’re feeding with our content. When we confuse a “view” as someone who READ our stuff, it’s easy to get frustrated. A view is little more than someone SCROLLING past your stuff. That’s it and that’s all.
But if you are expecting to BE SEEN and HEARD, you’ve got to know the lay of the online land you’re entering. It’s busy, loud, and chaotic. There’s very little trust here. And people are logging on while they’re doing 10 other things.
This does NOT mean content marketing can’t work. (You’re reading THIS aren’t you? lol..) It simply means that you need to build a DEMAND for your own voice, which is a formulaic and systematic process that can be done by ANYONE.

2) You are not making what you sell OBVIOUS. Warning: If you EVER tell me that your content isn’t producing cash, I’m going to go and look at your most active online platform. MOST OFTEN, I come back with a detailed list of ALLLLLLLLL the crap you posted without ONE SINGLE call to action. š
You don’t JUST have to make it obvious WHAT you sell, but also who it is OBVIOUSLY for and why buying it should be the OBVIOUS right decision. š

3) You’ve Been SOOOO Seduced by these Online Platforms that you forgot the BASICS of business.
There’s a man I follow. At first glance, it LOOKS like he “rose to fame” via Clubhouse. At CLOSER look, he is traveling the country on the regular. He’s showing up IN PERSON… a lot and in a lot of places. He’s single and no kids and it LOOKS like he LOVES this life.
But not me. I’m a 1/2 step away from being a full recluse.
My point: the online space is just ONE PART OF it. (Wait until you read #5 below.) It’s just ONE part. You don’t “run an online business,” because there’s no such thing. You run a business UTILIZING online platforms. The principles of business still apply.

4) You have been bullied into some homogenized version of yourself and your message.
Basically, woman… you’ve gone vanilla on us. You’ve toned down your message, rubbed the sharpness off of your edge, and dialed down your HEAT. Maybe because “they” raged on you the last time you posted something unpopular or controversial… and — let’s be honest — what ISN’T controversial these days?
Look, we’ve got to let ’em rage. (Envy OFTEN looks like rage.) I am no stranger to online flash mobs. š Recently I took an ABSOLUTE shellacking with HUNDREDS of DIFFERENT women who had decided that I was ALL that was WRONG with the women entrepreneur industry and slapping God himself in the face with my opinion, among other creative put downs.

if you are here to GUIDE,
if you are here to MENTOR,
if you are here to CHANGE things,
if you are here to be a messenger, an encourager, an EQUIPPER of your fellow human,
you WILL take a shellacking from time to time.
It comes with the territory.
BUT the message is either TRUE and impactful (and should be shared) or it is not.
SHARE the true and impactful and then..
let
them
rage
if they must.
5) You rely too much on the benevolence of the Zuckerberg’s of the world. Zuck et al, I’ll call them.
Look, I’m SLOOOOW to trust.
Slow like a moving glacier.
So forgive me if I don’t trust this platform or any other to get my message into the right hands. I just do not trust that MY agenda here and the platform’s agenda line up.
SOOOOOOO… I have a mechanization for my content. I ALWAYS assume that NO ONE is going to see my content if it is up to the platform. So, I have a PROCESS for how my own content is DISTRIBUTED and REPURPOSED.
I’ve just added one more module to the SAVAGE SUCCESS intensive: PROCESS. If you are JUST posting, but you have NO machine-like process — that YOU control — to have your message, your content, your soul injections DISTRIBUTED, you’re sitting in a cesspool of frustration.

Iām talking about BUILDING FENCES to protect against a loss of clients, time, energy or money. As well as a BIT about the loss of reputation / standing / influence within an industry IF that applies.
š PERSONIFICATION AS BRAND STRATEGY. This is about aggrandizing your brand, not just being KNOWN, but being known FOR and AS something you choose DELIBERATELY to be known for and as. This includes ā but is not limited to ā strategic curation and creation of:
š Your authority-building bio
š The stories you tell,
š the analogies you use (and why they are IMPERATIVE for quick client conversion)
š the jokes you make,
š HOW you show up online and off,
and so much more you probably think ādoesnāt matter.ā OH, but it does.
It SOOO matters.
