Being a female entrepreneur is hard. HECK, being a woman is hard. No, not because of some mysterious (questionable?) glass ceiling and not because of men. (I love men.) But because it IS different for us.
It’s different for women ‘treps because we’re SO multi-faceted. We simultaneously have a strong DRIVE and a strong desire to nurture. We simultaneously serve as the emotional barometer AND the financial providers in our homes. We’re simultaneously strong and also open, loving and also tough.
Our world requires us to “shape shift” almost… morphing QUICKLY between our various — equally embraced — roles…

WHATEVER.
But what’s more than our natural “multifaceted” nature, perhaps the BIGGEST difference between men and women these days is the fact that society — scratch that–, not society…. OUR PEERS, the people we hang around — have a BOAT LOAD of expectations for us.
When we’re DRIVEN, our loved ones and friends “worry” and tell us to SLOW DOWN. (Not so for men.)
When we’re overwhelmed, we get the “you’re taking on too much” talk. (Not so for men.)
When we’re not succeeding, we get the “maybe next time,” instead of the harder, more appropriate talk… that would propel us further.
When we miss something for our kids, we get the GUILT that somehow Dads seem to NEVER receive.
Please don’t hear what I’m not saying… I LOVE being a woman and find there to be a much (MUCH) bigger upside than downside. I certainly wouldn’t want to be a man in today’s world. I’m just saying that it IS different for us. Here are 7 Things that we can choose to EMBRACE TODAY in order to FUEL our success:
CLARITY. Knowing exactly what you are creating in your business is key. In order to align today’s strategies with future success, you must have a very clear idea of what you are up to. This also makes it MUCH easier to make decisions, weigh options, avoid distractions and stay the course if we know exactly where we’re headed.
CERTAINTY. The definition of certainty is “inevitability.” I work on my mindset DAILY and regularly expand my own “circle of certainty.” For instance, me showing up and messaging DAILY is a certainty. Being certain of my own actions is where our certainty starts, learning how to depend on OURSELVES…. how to TRUST ourselves to follow through, to do what it takes. But, from there, you want to DAILY STRETCH your own circle of certainty to include OUTCOMES that you know are inevitable.
I don’t want to spend 1000 more words building this one out, but when you learn to trust your ACTIONS as “certain” and “inevitable” you will have a much easier time trusting the OUTCOME as “certain” or inevitable.
CONFIDENCE. Embracing the fact that YOUR goals or dreams are yours for a reason… because you are UNIQUELY qualified to bring them to life is a huge piece of doing what it takes, DAILY to make them a reality. Confidence can be built and should be built daily. You don’t have to be born with it.
CIRCLE. You are the average of the people you hang around MOST, so be choosy, friend. CHOOSE to fill YOUR circle with people who not only encourage you but also hold you accountable, call you out on your B.S., challenge your assumptions and empower (and expect) you to be your BEST SELF.

CAUSE AND EFFECT. Don’t EVER fall victim to “I’m a victim” thinking. There is NO benefit in claiming or occupying a victim status. NONE. EVER. We live in a world of CAUSE & EFFECT. Period. Choose the EFFECT you want to see and then BE the CAUSE that brings it to life. Whatever you WANT in life, you can be the CAUSE that makes it happen.
No mystery.
No hidden secret.
Just cause & effect.
CASH. Embrace cash. Accept no other forms of payment in your business… payments like, “friendship” or “affirmation” or “exposure.” NO. Work for money, like a professional.
Without COMPROMISE. Do all of this WITHOUT COMPROMISE. You do not have to give up your health to grow a thriving business. You do not have to give up the things that matter most to you in order to create the income you want. You do NOT have to travel if you don’t want to, or network if you don’t want to, or work with X or Y if you don’t want to. Building a business without compromise is not only more fun and enjoyable, trust me when I say it is ALSO the FASTEST way to make your goals happen.
Embrace these seven “things” and you’ll see your business soar.
