The more known I become in the business realm, the more stories I hear from solopreneurs who are desperately seeking profit. They’re working hard, doing all they know to do, and yet EITHER the sales seem to come inconsistently and too slowly or the profit is lacking… or both.
The sad truth is that many business owners are moving so quickly they do not see that they are literally tripping over profit each and every day… all due to their haste and hurry.
Yep. Sometimes you have to slow down in order to see the profit all around you. In fact, IF YOU NEED PROFIT, I’m going to ask you to do 2 simple things… GUARANTEED to help you find profit in your business, in the most obvious place, and fast.
1) Go through your old emails.
Trust me, there is TONS of profit hidden in your email box. Prospects and existing clients you responded to in haste, but not fully. Emails that went without any response at all. Prospects you forgot about.
Set aside NO LESS THAN 2 hours and protect this time, meaning NO NEW emails should be permitted to come through, your phone should be off or on silent, and no interruptions. When I’m doing my own “profit diving” in the ol’ email box, I often grab a glass of wine, put on my favorite music, and go through several months of emails to see what I may have forgotten.
Respond to and check in with great prospects. Re-invigorate conversations. Look at your existing client list and figure out additional ways to serve them better. You’ll be shocked at what you missed. I do this 3 – 4 times a year. It’s always profitable.
Quick note: DO NOT email people back during your profit diving and simply ask them to buy from you. Email them back fully. Spend some time serving them via email. Check in, stay curious, and be deliberate. SALES come through SERVICE. So, keep this mindset during this exercise.
2) Set a Profit Challenge for Yourself.
I’m always shocked what people can do when CHALLENGED with a high goal and a short time frame. If you’re not already registered for our 90 Day Business Challenge, check it out now. You’ll never get it cheaper and our LAST group of 30 is almost full. But even if you don’t create a profit challenge alongside US, set one for yourself. Make profit a game. Give yourself X number of days…. to reach $XXXX in profit. Set a goal, measure progress, and get some accountability via a challenge buddy or coach.
