Here are 6 questions THESE ELITE, UBER HIGH PERFORMERS literally NEVER ask… and a challenge to you to RETRAIN your brain to THINK like the elite in YOUR industry:
- WHAT CAN I DO TO STAND OUT?
So, here’s a little secret: The HIGHEST paid people in your industry (and mine) are paid for WHO THEY ARE, not what they do. Literally… in EVERY industry… from household helps to construction to real estate to cosmetics to acting to writing, the BEST paid are paid for who they ARE.
And we do NOT show up WONDERING what “shock factor” zig we can orchestrate while others zag. We JUST show up. As ourselves.
Standing OUT — frankly — is what we do because it is who we are and anything REMOTELY close to “fitting in” just isn’t within the realm of possibility.
Think of people who have risen to the ELITE of MULTIPLE industries. Schwarzenegger is a (safe and) perfect example. He determined BEFORE HE EVEN CAME TO AMERICA AND BEFORE HE LEARNED THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE that he was going to be at the TOP of the body building world AND the acting world.
Both of which, he — as you know– achieved.
And he added politics to boot.
He rose to the top 1% of EVERY industry he entered. THIS is not because he’s super human… it is because of the WAY he thinks and the WAY he “JUST” shows up.
- DO YOU THINK I NEED A COACH or MENTOR?
um…. yes. I do. WHY? Because ALL of the ELITE in any industry invest HEAVILY (both time and money) in upping their game, developing themselves, up-leveling their art, and increasing their business.
There aren’t exceptions to this rule… and you are not likely to be the first.
Do you know who asks this question and JUStIFIES not investing in themselves? It ain’t the elite. It’s the broke people. (I know… because I have been one.)
- WHAT WILL THEY THINK IF I ___________?
yep… never asked. It never crosses our minds. This isn’t EVEN a thought for ELITE achievers. Should someone ELSE ask us this question, our response is along the lines of “Who are THEY and why would I give a flying puck?“
- DO YOU THINK THIS IS A REASONABLE GOAL?
Yawn. This is EMPLOYEE-based thinking that plagues the mediocre masses. Why must a goal be “reasonable” in order for you to pursue it? EACH of us has accomplished the “unreasonable” in SOMETHING. And, also…. who decides what is “reasonable?”
Yes, this is a pet peeve of mine.
When I hear it from entrepreneurs, I want to jump out of my skin. - HOW LONG UNTIL ALL OF THE CONDITIONS ARE PERFECT?
OMG, what?
Come again, please.I JUST had this weak question asked of me recently…. “I can’t do it unless all of the conditions are perfect.”
WHAT???? Please…. before I lose EVERY shred of respect for you… do you know who THINKS this way? Spoiled brats and coddled employees. That’s who. If you need PERFECTION before you POUNCE, you’ve lost your mojo, man…

The ELITE look for “minimally viable conditions” and — let’s be honest — we bring a new extreme to the word “minimally.” Can it PHYSICALLY work?
The mediocre masses wait and watch and the LEADERS of every industry PLOW forward.

No… this is not the way leaders think. Leaders MAY ponder, “Do you think they can STOP me from ___________?” And that’s it.
Who is going to STOP ME?

Right now, it is possible that you are either triggered or offended or put off. It’s possible that RIGHT NOW you’re justifying — in your mind — your own thinking….
BUT,
WE get to choose our own thoughts.
The Bible even TELLS US
to take CAPTIVE EVERY thought.In other words, how we THINK
and WHAT we think…
is a choice
that eventually becomes a habit.If you’re THINKING is more aligned with the mediocre masses, guess where you’re headed?
But, if day by day, you start STRETCHING your thinking to be MORE aligned with those who are OUTRAGEOUSLY successful in EVERY industry they enter…
well,
you’ll be well on your way to joining them.
