Answer: MORE than enough time. See my list below.
One of my pet peeves is a woman (with kids, with one kid, with NO kids… with a job, without a job, single, married, dating, WHATEVER) who constantly belabors how little time she has to get stuff done. I particularly resented that little conversation when I had 3 kids under 5, ran a business producing a full time income with no sitters, nurtured my marriage, ran a ministry at my church, and more.
I resent it now because it reminds me of,
well…. ME.
And all the time I wasted,
buying into the idea
that I didn’t have enough time.
Helpful tip:
Time you DENY you have
is time you WASTE.
And so, to prove a point here,
but mainly to stretch my legs a bit in the time department,
I’ve done a little experiment…
which requires an alarm to go off every 20 minutes, so I can keep an eye on how much time things take.
HERE is what 20 minutes means to a driven woman. In 20 minutes, I can / have / did….
💥 Write a full blog post with call to action;
💥 Enjoy a full sweat-producing HIIT workout in my backyard;
💥 Do a live stream on your platform of choice;
💥 Empty / re-fill the dishwasher, put on a load of clothes, and make lunch… all while listening to an audio training;
💥 Journal
💥 Meditate… going into the Narnias of our minds and creating entire worlds before returning relaxed, empowered and ready to take on the day;
💥 Read my Bible and pray;
💥 Send out 12 private email invites;
💥 Respond to your comments and messages on Facebook;
💥 Check in with your team about upcoming tasks, take their questions, etc.
💥 Hear ALL about your daughter’s awful day at work;
💥 Follow up with multiple prospects.
💥 Check in with your money, checking accounts, paying bills, etc.
💥 Listen to your favorite podcast;
💥 Make breakfast while enjoying coffee with your man;
💥 Create a sales post and a reminder post for your tribe — both with custom created graphics — plus have 10 minutes left over to do quick makeup for a live stream.
💥 Build out a chapter for your new book.
💥 Call a friend I haven’t talked to in too long.
💥 Water the garden with your niece.
And more, of course. This was just an incomplete snapshot of my own personal list from the past day or so. Here’s my point:
Before 7 AM EST, I can do any SIX of those activities… Get my workout in, Read my Bible, Journal, Write a blog post, send out 12 personal invites and Meditate.
This takes care of my body, soul and mind;
my selling for the day, AND
my messaging for the day.
While most people are still hitting snooze,
I’ve done more than they will likely do all day.
but woman…
you’re not like most people.
You’re DRIVEN like me,
and you know you’re called,
and what’s more…
You know that things come to you easier,
faster
than so many others.
And you know that any excuse you make to the contrary…
is just that…
a dirty, rotten, lying, thieving excuse.
So, let’s own what we can ACTUALLY do in little 20-minute pockets of time.
You do NOT want to play small —
joining in on the oh-so-impotent chorus of women
complaining
about all the time they don’t have —
so anyone else can feel big.
Go all in.
You have ALL the time you need,
and then some.
You know what ELSE you can do in 20 minutes?
You can literally register RIGHT NOW to hang out with the top producers & decision makers for Dr. Oz, Rachael Ray, Fox News, the Wendy Williams Show, CNN, Entrepreneur magazine, the new Tamron Hall show.. and more. That link is HERE.
