If you’re in real estate, health products, or business development, chances are 2020 finds you in a unique position: Money is seemingly willing to rush up hill to chase you down. Business is good. (Exception noted if you’re in real estate in a bigger city rocked by fires, looting, violence and civil unrest.)
And if you’re a speaker, trainer or own a restaurant, salon, movie theater or you’re a doctor that practices “non-essential” medicine… the opposite may be your CURRENT reality.
Either way, we all go through storms. WELL BEFORE the rest of the world was rocked by the recession of 2008 / 2009…. I went through my own personal recession. No money, no credit, late on bills, scary times. In 2019, I endured a super hard year personally, grief having me by my VERY SOUL for much of the year. Figuring out how to keep going as I worked my way through some critical shifts was tough. And this year, well…
2020 has been its own crazy tsunami of I-don’t-even-know-what.
BUT WHATEVER / WHENEVER THE STORM,
THE ONLY WAY OUT IS THROUGH.
And all successful people
those you know personally,
and those you read about in magazines and books,
have a CERTAIN way we deal with storms.
First, we REMIND OURSELVES of two truths:
1) Every storm is temporary; and
2) It could be worse.
This mentality is critical.
It ushers in perspective.
Next, we ACKNOWLEDGE RESPONSIBILITY,
PERSONAL responsibility.
i.e. We make it OUR fault.
Steve Chandler taught me that ONLY when I’m willing to be the problem, am I FREE to be the solution. So, no matter WHAT the issue, no matter WHAT the circumstance, I acknowledge,
“This is all my fault.”
And I am not alone.
EXTREME personal responsibility is rare,
(Of course, success is ALSO rare)
but it keeps us in the driver’s seat where we can keep going, keep steering, keep pressing play!
And success DEMANDS we keep our hands on the wheel, EVEN (and especially) during storms.
We ALSO acknowledge opportunity.
There is opportunity in EVERY SINGLE set back, in EVERY SINGLE situation, RAINBOW opportunities in EVERY storm.
Who was it that said, “It’s an impossible situation, but it has possibilities.” Whoever it was, they were a wild success, I’m sure.
Finally, we take immediate and consistent ACTION.
I’m not saying we don’t take a time out to throw a temper tantrum, stop our feet and have an intimate little pity party. I’ve thrown a few myself. (A few temper tantrums AND a few pity parties. If you didn’t get an invite, please don’t take offense. I lick my own wounds, alone! lol… )
BUT we quickly get back to the ART
to the HABIT
to the near RELIGION
of doing something.
Because it’s who we are.
THIS is the Women Who WOW Way.
This is the way of EVERY success story,
because STORMS are equal opportunity offenders,
they do not choose or discriminate.
HOW we deal with them is what separates us from the rest.
P.S. If the storm YOU’RE going through is AT ALL sales related… I have something coming up. Something “cheap.” Something that will change EVERYTHING about how you sell, and also… how you view your business. It’s called the Cash Creation Code and you can check it out here: https://www.bmichellepippin.com/cashcreationcode/
