I remember someone telling me about 10 – 12 years ago how much I impressed them…. WHY?
Not due to my beauty or wit. lol..
But because of how EXPERTLY I was able to be rejected… repeatedly, without allowing it to “affect” me.
Well, dear…. I had a TON of practice. š
She said, “You will let the whole WORLD reject you, but you’ll never say NO to yourself.” And, there were many seasons during which I DID ā in factā feel that the entire world had rejected me… on repeat.
But it’s not JUST that I didn’t give up on ME,
or on my BUSINESS.
But I didn’t give up on THEM,
those who “rejected me.”
I didn’t just go away.
If I “Proposed to them” professionally,
I believed in them.
I meant EVERY WORD of what I said…
I LIKED them,
and — even though they were a NO —
I didn’t just leave and NEVER speak to them again.
I stayed in touch,
I checked in.
I made connections for them when appropriate.
I even referred them to other “coaches” if they asked.
In other words, I treated them like people instead of paychecks.
But here’s the thing.
I haven’t —
but probably could —
track AT LEAST $100,000 or MORE of income back to what I lovingly refer to as my basket of NOs.
They were NOs back then.
They were NOs when I ORIGINALLY asked.
There are NO “forever Nos.”
So how do you turn a MOUNTAIN of āNOsā into a thriving business?
Show you CARE about people….
your market…
by staying in contact with them.
Do it because it’s the RIGHT thing to do.
Because it’s the HUMAN thing to do.
Because it’s WEIRD to just forget about someone when they say they won’t do business with you.
