Nice video Michelle! The critical question:”Is it working?” Indeed! Too many cookie-cutter solutions out there.

Is it working for me! Does my copy lead to sales? Love this. Cannot tolerate creativity for creativity sake….well that’s good to know because I love my writing! I am not selling any products yet on my site but I would love to learn more abut your services as I move forward. I will be sure to send you an email. Thanks for sharing! Always grateful for your wisdom Michelle.

MIchelle, love your focus on copy attracting AND converting your target market. Creativity is like love. It’s always there as a state, just sometimes quiet and in the background. It doesn’t need to scream through copy, but the offer and next steps definitely do. Totally jamming on your viewpoint and will use your sage advice as I write copy for my new website. Thanks Michelle!

It seems like you’ve done a really good job at identifying your target audience – and who is not a part of that group! So important – something we all need to do!
I’m not sure if I agree on your take on creativity. But, I think your question, “Is it working?” is spot on and a great measuring gauge!
Thanks for this. You’ve given me a lot to think about. 🙂

Hi Michelle,
I was chuckling all the way through this video, because I am — or WAS — one of those hyper-creative copywriters. Yep, did my time in a large ad agency in Houston where the name of the game was winning Addy awards, not helping clients market their products or services.
I think the Web itself has helped curb that tendency, because if your message isn’t simple and clear, you’ll quickly get lost in the shuffle. I actually had to teach myself to can the puns, plays-on-words, and clever in-jokes for simple, clear copy that everyone can understand at a glance.
Thanks for bringing up this topic!

Thanks Rachel! So glad you’re here on the blog!

Love the video, Michelle — good luck with your copy assessments. So funny how much we fall in love with our copy that it sometimes prevents us from being able to tell if it’s effective and sending the message we’ve intended.

Excellent video clip. As a former English teacher I appreciate the power of words and am very grateful for your gracious offer. I think it would be fun to be involved in a group (possibly on FB) where we can just “run things by” each other. Love how FB has the instant survey and you can vote for your favorite. Let me know if you have any groups going Michelle – you definitely got it goin’ on!

Hey there!! Yes… as you know, I have one group coming up June 11th — https://www.bmichellepippin.com/groupon — I can not wait! This event will be the best thing I’ve ever done professionally. It’s (almost!) all I can think about! But, yes… as a former English teacher you know… there’s GREAT writing that would get an A… and then there’s writing that sells…. OFTEN very very (very) different things! lol…. SO SO glad you’re here!

A very helpful video clip, Michelle… You left us with a question (“is it working?”) that answers how effective our business is at the moment. Thank you for the tips too! xoxo
