One of our Women Who WOW members reached out to me about a new prospective client. The member was creating a proposal with (of course) more than one option for the prospect to pick a way to proceed.
Now, I knew that this member had recently launched (and filled) an online membership group. But, becoming a member of that group was NOT an option listed for the prospect to choose.
So, of course, I said, “Remember to include your membership as an option. THIS is the option that is FULLY LEVERAGED for you.”
Leveraged, as in ..
no matter how many people pay and join,
the business owner does nothing extra.
The beauty of it — the membership model, that is– blows me away, and I’ve written about it extensively here and here and here. =)

But, DESPITE spending a considerable amount of focus and energy creating and launching and filling her membership, she “forgot” it when she went to propose to a new prospect.
HOW CAN THIS BE?
Muscle memory, I guess…
the tendency for us to do the same thing over and over again without questioning how it’s working for us…
This “well, this is how I’ve always done it” scenario is dangerous ground for an entrepreneur. The sand in our arena is constantly shifting and our AGILITY is what provides us with a supreme advantage.
How fast we respond.
How efficiently and effectively we can shift.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN WE HAVE TO QUICK, HARRIED AND FRAZZLED ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.
In fact, for me agility means the opposite.
I can’t be so heavily scheduled that I can’t change course quickly… either for my family or for my members.
For instance, yesterday had to be cut short professionally because of a kid issue. My writing day today flexed to meet the needs of three members who had pressing needs / opportunities to leverage.
Freedom allows me FLEX.
And deliberately building my business to create freedom (of time, of money, of preference) has been the ABSOLUTE best commitment I ever made.
