I can’t remember where it was, but I read an article encouraging women entrepreneurs to step into a place where they claimed what they DESERVED in business and in life. I read the entire article and I really did “get the point,” but the “I DESERVE TO BE SUCCESSFUL” mantra definitely didn’t work for me.
For many years, I did all the things.
I followed (some of) the rules in business.
I played nice with other entrepreneurs.
And I was also — gosh darn it — a great person. =)
I was an active and engaged mother,
a good wife,
and a good Christian.
I helped those in need, whether I was related to them or not.
I encouraged others.
I tried to leave each situation better than I found it.
All of these things I did…
And still do.
But, back then, I thought somehow
you know, because i was a “good person” who was “doing the work,” that I DESERVED to be successful.
And I also thought that because I KNEW that I was CALLED to lead my industry…
that “ONE DAY”
it would — I don’t know — just happen.
Only, it didn’t. =)
I’m sure I have eternal rewards for all of this stuff, but in the ENTREPRENEURIAL realm,
I actually DON’T think you get what you “DESERVE.”
No.
You get what you’re willing to CREATE.
You get what you are willing to negotiate.
You get what you are willing to demand.
You get what you are willing to embrace.
You get what you are willing to accept.
In the entrepreneurial realm, it’s not about what you DESERVE…
(This is why you’ll see sub-par talent or those lacking even a thimble-full of integrity at the top.)
It’s not an issue of whether you’re deserving.
And the world doesn’t CARE what you think you deserve.
The world,
your market,
your prospects….
will ignore what YOU think you DESERVE,
But, they’ll ALL take notice when you become a CREATOR.
A cash creator.
A value creator.
A client creator.
A solution creator.
I am a CREATIONIST, in every sense of the word.
I deserve EXACTLY what i’m wiling to CREATE.
In income.
In fame.
In love.
In friendship.
In health.
And I will GET, exactly what I’m wiling to ACCEPT.
In income.
In fame.
In love.
In friendship.
In health.
So, over to you: What are YOU willing to create in 2018? And what is the MINIMUM you’ll be willing to accept?
