… OR not reaching it’s (and your) potential… Here’s a list of EIGHT stumbling blocks I see tripping business owners up. I list them now, so we can fix them, avoid them, or defy them completely. To your wild (and unreasonable) success! xoxo
YOU DON’T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU’RE SELLING. P.S. It isn’t coaching…. or speaking…. or lipstick… or nutritional supplements…. or insurance. Even if you sell coaching, speaking, lipstick, nutritional supplements, or insurance. We have to know why our clients buy from us in order to find out exactly what they are buying. TEN times out of ten, your clients are buying one of four things: a SOLUTION, a LUXURY, a GUARANTEE (or security), or an ESCAPE.
YOU ARE NEEDY. And it shows. A needy business owner lowers prices and dilutes the value of what they offer, nags his or her clients for referrals or more sales and chases others around the networking dance floor. Needy is bad. But only every time.
YOU HOPE THE PRODUCTS OR YOUR SERVICE SELLS ITSELF. They don’t. It doesn’t matter what you were told when you got into this business. Selling is up to you. Enough said.
YOU DON’T LISTEN TO YOUR CLIENTS OR CUSTOMERS. The best sales tools you have are your ears, and you need them. So listen. And respond.
YOU KEEP PUTTING OFF THE BIG LAUNCH. I am all for preparation and education, but your business is built on your perspiration. Stop putting it off. Go big now. You’ll learn 90 % of what you need to know in your own big launch.
YOU ARE AFRAID. When you are afraid, you will gravitate towards the middle of the herd, and you (and your business) will get lost in the shuffle. Never good. Ever.
YOU DON’T HAVE ENOUGH SUPPORT. You can’t do this alone. Don’t try. Get the support you need.
YOU ARE SALES AVERSE. Selling is part of this gig. It is where you get paid. So, learn to love it… and learn to do it WELL.
That’s it… for now.
This is a Saturday night blog post… so forgive me for being “short, sweet and to the point!” =) And enjoy the rest of your weekend.

This is so good and exactly the kick I needed today! I appreciate your wisdom. I wanted to get in on the deal last Sunday and missed it! Thanks again!
