Epic, yep.
But actually, the battle for the attention and HEART of your market is truly a battle of gargantuan proportion.
Because you’re not only competing with those who sell something similar to you. You’re also battling 24 hour news cycles and apps with developers sitting around brainstorming ways to interrupt your prospect’s day with yet another distraction. The pop up ads, the emails, the text messages, the Facebook bots… they are ALL competing for the attention and heart of YOUR market.
And mine.
BUT THAT’S NOT THE WORST OF IT.
It’s not just the CONSTANT source of attention-dispersing distractions… You’re also competing against the limiting beliefs of your prospects. You may get their attention and EVEN capture their imagination… only to be tossed aside when they start their “stinking thinking.”
“I’m too old to start this.” (no you’re not.)
“Do you think I can really make this happen?” (yep. 100%)
“But, I live in a (really) small town.” (so do I.)
“I don’t have the money for ________.” (We all have the $$ for what we really want.)
I’M SO SO SORRY, BUT IT ACTUALLY GETS WORSE.
You’re also competing against your market’s past failures. They tried X and didn’t follow through… Or, they tried Y, and it didn’t work. And now, they don’t trust themselves to invest and TRY again.

There’s a REASON long-form infomercials (still) have such an incredible track record. (WHICH, despite viewership being WAY DOWN, infomercials are CONVERTING eyeballs into dollars at a record pace.)
The REASON is that infomercials clear ALL THREE of these hurdles. They get your attention… Remember, infomercials had the BEST viewership when we had to “flip channels” to see what was on the TV. So, they had to break through the clutter and distraction and grab us.
But, also… they’re LONG FORM commercials, giving infomercials the TIME they need to ALWAYS feature testimonials and success stories. They address BOTH the limiting beliefs and WHY their product isn’t like ANYTHING else that may have failed you in the past.
MY question to you is this:
Does YOUR current sales “system” do ALL of this?
Without a PROVEN PROFITABLE sales funnel, it does NOT. You are spending a boatload of time and maybe money trying to get the attention of your target market.
You’re showing up for a lot of (I’ll say it: incredibly lame) networking events. You’re face booking and twittering and spending time on the Gram. You might be buying Facebook or google ads. You may even be posting half-naked selfies, or CUSSING IN ALL CAPS. (LOOK AT ME!!! LET ME INTERRUPT YOUR FACEBOOK SCROLLING… PLEASE!! JUST FOR A MOMENT, LOOK MY WAY!!) Or you’re blogging and guest posting and spending time and money to get recognized by the media.
BUT, all of this — at BEST — can give you an EGO BOOST…
if you don’t have a solid sales funnel in place to “do the rest.”
The rest, meaning:
- allowing the prospect to get to know you;
- breaking down their limiting beliefs;
- showing them how you and YOUR work is different than the other things that let them down; and
- inviting the prospect IN… into a “place” where they are KNOWN, SEEN, HEARD and CELEBRATED.
So, let’s talk about YOUR sales funnel or sales funnels.
