Regardless of your name, brand, mastermind group affiliation, location, or your constant hustle… at some point you’ll hit a place in your business during which you’ll wonder where all the business, profit and opportunity went.
I wish this wasn’t true. While we can’t avoid these business stalls (or stops), we can:
- Predict and prepare for them; and
- Make them shorter and less costly.
Below are 3 steps to helping your business get started, or pick up the pace, again:
Get Help.
In cold case files, tough medical cases, and even archeological digs, professionals seek help when they are stumped, stalled, or at a crossroads. Often, they bring in someone completely unfamiliar with the case or problem. Why? Because they’re too close to the issue to see anything new, out of place, or glaringly obvious. The same goes for your business. If you’re not CURRENTLY in relationship with someone who can advise with and strategize for your business, you’re a step behind. Find one. Find someone who knows a lot about business, sales and direct response strategies. It IS “better to spend a day with a master than 10,000 years of study.”
BE the Problem.
You’re the business owner, so take full ownership. If you’re the problem, you can be the solution. So… If you’re responsible for bringing IN the problem, you can be the person responsible for ushering in the solution. THE MOMENT in which you start blaming your staff, your industry, or the economy… is the moment your business slump gets deeper and far more treacherous to climb out of. So take FULL responsibility.
Brainstorm Your 2:1 Solution
For every single problem, obstacle or hurdle you can name in your business (name them all) create two possible solutions.
And then, of course, there’s nothing left to do but start taking action. As my Daddy’s always said, LONG before Nike “stole” it from him, “Do something. Even if it’s wrong, do something.”
