Here’s a novel idea that — for some reason — people seem surprised by: I invest in and am committed to getting outside help and expertise, support and accountability in MY OWN business. I don’t just sell this stuff. I sell it and I sell it WELL because I am also a fan of it. I KNOW where my business would be without the help of “experts” and without the advantage of extra sets of eyes seeing the gaps. It would be pretty dag on close to where it started… which is unacceptable.
Just recently, I was meeting with a group of business owners that I meet with each and every month. We hold each other accountable, support each other, and push each other’s agendas. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. This month, I came in with a problem that I’d been unable to solve / wrap my head around for over 2 years. Seriously… 2 solid years.
I brought it up.
About 7 minutes later, we’d “uncovered” a solution hidden in plain sight. A detailed, specific solution. It’ll be fully implemented into my business by next week.
Bottom line: You’re not going to reach your full profit potential in a vacuum. Who supports and challenges you? Who helps you see the gaps in your own business? Your own strategy?
