(Because it’s simply not enough to “stop apologizing.” )
I’ll be very honest… I just kicked my own ass in a pretty rough journaling session just now. My final words to myself?
STOP APOLOGIZING / EXCUSING & FIX IT.
Gulp. Before I get into my own dirty laundry… let’s talk about you. (Actually, let’s let us both off the hook for a minute and talk about HER. That’s MUCH easier.)
You know her.
The woman who is full of potential and is also successful, but there’s something holding her back.
And it’s not fear,
Or a lack of confidence or know-how.
It’s something MUCH more tangible
(more fixable)
Than that.
For HER, it’s something personal…
Her weight maybe… is keeping her from really going public.
Maybe it’s her resistance to technology
Or her reluctance to fire a team member
Or her dread of hiring a new one.
Maybe it’s shame regarding her website
Or her back end…
Regardless, it wasn’t until I saw this THING…
This tangible, fixable, irritatingly stupid thing
Show up in my own journaling that I realized HOW OFTEN this sort of thing comes up for women entrepreneurs.
At first, we apologize for it.
Then we excuse it. (I don’t NEED that…. )
But eventually…
That thing…
The out-of-date branding,
The under-performing website,
The weight or clothes or hair…
It starts to shackle us to our current level.
Because it’s like a rock in our shoe…
Hindering our pace,
And affecting our race.
If this is speaking to you,
I have no 9-step plan to offer.
No support.
No cushy program.
Just this:
Stop apologizing,
Stop excusing,
Stop ignoring…
And FIX IT.
2020 is the year you go ALL IN,
and this DOES require that you operate unencumbered, unhindered by stupid crap you refused to address.
That is SO 2019.
