The more visible I get,
the more truth I share,
the more I hear from other women,
many are strangers…
who are struggling in their business.
But “struggling in their business”
doesn’t do THIS particular struggle justice.
I know this first hand.
Because I have lived through the tough times,
the scary times,
the times when you just don’t know how much longer you can go,
the times when looking at your bank balance has you feeling like the air is sucked out of the room,
the times that EVEN THOUGH you know that you know that you know…
that you were BORN for this,
MADE for this,
DESTINED for so much more…
the day to day can still feel so uphill.
This doesn’t begin and end with “my business is struggling.”
it affects confidence and relationships.
It affects your sleep and even how deeply you breathe.
It affects your mood.
and more.
And the question I hear is two-fold …
How do you get through it?
and…
How do you know when to give up?
The first I can answer quickly…
and in an infuriatingly simple way.
You get through it the same way I did:
You get through it because
THAT
IS JUST
WHAT
HUSTLERS
DO.
They
–we–
just
do the thing….
for AS LONG as it takes.
Knuckles white, and teeth clenched sometimes,
but that is just what we do.
How long?
Well… UNTIL it takes.
Period.
Now, what about the whole “giving up” thing?
I’ll be very honest…
I have had people give up on me. I have had them question when I’d “see the writing on the wall and get a real job.” And I have seen the doubt in the eyes of people who love me… wanting the BEST for me, and thinking that a “job” may be it.
Yes… I have certainly had people give up on me…
but I have NEVER given up on myself.
It’s not in me to withdraw.
Period.
I know that I was born for this,
and I ALSO know that being BORN for something
doesn’t mean SQUAT unless you’re willing to SHOW UP for your destiny.
So, I do my part.
I show up.
Every day,
when I feel like it,
and when I’d rather hide.
On bad days,
during bad “seasons,”
I stare my circumstances in the face.
BUT… here’s what I know:
I am BACKED by the call on my life,
by my sheer determination and grit,
by my defiant refusal to give up.
And… woman,
that is enough.
So, keep going.
