How To Sell More In Business, Starting Today.

Businesses generally don’t close their doors because the owner loses interest in what they do.  Unfortunately, businesses close their doors because they lose HOPE… they’re sick to death of pitching and selling without consistent result.   They still love what they do. They just get sick of selling when it feels like “no one is buying.”  This short article will help you — regardless of industry — sell more in your business.   The sales solution:  Love.

So, what does love have to do with sales?  

Everything, in my experience.  Within wow membership, I run up against a lot of sales resistance.  It shows up as, “I’ve tried that before and it didn’t work.” And it shows up as, “I’m just not sure this is what people want anymore.”  And it shows up as delayed launches, repeated re-writes of sales copy, and more.

Essentially — and especially if you find yourself in a business slump — sales resistance comes from FEAR:

• FEAR of not being a hit right out of the gate.
• FEAR of being rejected.
• FEAR of losing a prospect.
• FEAR of hearing NO.
• FEAR that maybe whatever you’re selling isn’t for everyone.  (Hint: It’s not.  No biggie.)
• FEAR of doing the wrong thing, or doing the right thing poorly.

FEAR.  There is nothing I loathe more than fear.  Fear is a thief.  It robs you of today.  It rots your bones.  It erodes potential.  And it has NO place in business.

So, how do you sell MORE using love? Where’s the connection?  Well, here’s what 1 John 4:8 says,

“Perfect love casts out all fear.” 

Before you go out to sell again… FALL BACK IN LOVE with what you’re selling.  Fall MADLY in love with what you offer.  Dig deep.   Fall passionately in love with your work every morning.  Remind yourself of why it’s amazing, feel the LOVE for your offer deep in your bones… and a funny thing will happen.

The fear, the resistance, the procrastination… all of that will melt away.  And your prospects will sense your deep passion for your work, and be drawn to it.
