I remember someone telling me, “They all want to be the next Michelle.”
You’d have to understand the context because It was said — CERTAINLY NOT as a compliment. =) It was said as a TAUNT. Perhaps to make me feel insecure??? (Making me feel insecure is honestly a fool’s game. it’s not an option I have EVER put on the table.) And, in truth… I have seen a couple people try to step into that EXACT role I was playing at the time. I watched them try to “be the next Michelle.”
One now has a full time JOB. (Whilst still coaching small business owners “on the side.” #irony)
Another can’t decide which business she’s in. Still trying to make it work.
Both no longer in that role of “next Michelle.” #whodathunkit?
My response to this comment was swift,
and OOZED of the confidence that DEFINES me:
“Good luck.”
You just CAN’T beat ME,
at BEING ME. =)
And, I can’t beat YOU,
at being YOU.
AND HEREIN LIES your SECRET SAUCE.
