It’s NOT that getting your funnels all mapped out in advance is bad.
It’s NOT that learning social media hacks and tips is bad.
It’s NOT that prettying up your sales page is bad…
It’s NOT that getting photos with the celebs, even if you pay for it is bad.
It’s NOT bad to commit to some fancy background for your lives…
OR doing that rebranding photo shoot.
It IS the fact that you think you NEED these things
or ANY such thing
in order to show up and rock the hell out of that offer or launch.
It IS the fact that you STILL feel that you need ALL of these props in order to be taken seriously… or get attention… or be worthy of being paid.
It IS the fact that showing up “just” you is something you STILL feel isn’t enough.
THESE are the things holding you back in business. Perfection does not exist. Progress does, though. And let me say this LOUD so that those in the back can hear me:
NEVER will you hear that you were hired because of how “dot point perfect” your funnel was. (P.S. folks are gettin’ wise to funnels, lol… So DO them but don’t PRETEND in them. They know it ain’t “real.”) NEVER will you be told that someone hired you or bought from you because you took that one picture with <<insert celebrity>> and they finally thought you were a big deal. NEVER will you be reassured that someone FINALLY bought from you once they saw you caring that fancy Chanel bag.
It just won’t happen.
People BUY (now more than ever) from those CONFIDENT enough to take the stage without a script or costume… from those AUDACIOUS enough to show up AS THEMSELVES with no pretense. People BUY from those who ENERGETICALLY back themselves.
Was it Frank Sinatra who said, “If you need more than a microphone and a stage, you’re a poser.” Maybe I paraphrased. Maybe it really wasn’t Sinatra. BUT the point remains: If you as a “brand” or a “professional” or as a leader needs all of these perfection props to get out there and sell…
You
WILL
struggle
making
money.
If this is you, I pray you married into it. Because business will prove very frustrating for you.
