I have long talked about how entrepreneurs tend to wear being “too busy” as some sort of sick, twisted badge of honor. When in reality, being TOO BUSY should always signal the need for change. “BUSY” should be a symptom of you being off course.
I am often assumed to be “busy.”
“I know you’re so busy.”
No, I’m not so busy.
Because when I am,
I fix it.
In truth, I hate busy.
I like ease and peace and flow,
and the TRUTH is
while i AM always up to something
and taking aligned action,
the dramatic money increases I’ve celebrated over the years have ALWAYS followed a DECIDED stepping AWAY from any busy-ness that has crept in.
And I get how easy it is for busy-ness to creep in. I’m there right now. I have had a couple of weeks that have been BUSY. In my opinion, they’ve been over-scheduled. I mean, I took a three day retreat and STILL ended up too scheduled.
So I woke up this morning and realized that I was again on the verge of a breakthrough, not only in income / profit (although, of course!) but also in personal joy and peace and accomplishment. My huge breakthroughs ALWAYS come with a reminder, a command that I need to STEP AWAY from the busy.
In order to create,
in order to become,
in order to receive…
And so I spent a good deal of time this morning in my journal, writing out ALL I am ushering in for July, for the month of American Independence. And I am buzzing with excitement, yes.. but also with expectation.
As I wrote out my intentions
and — of course —
my aligned actions AND commitments,
I was struck by how I ALWAYS back away from busy using the following three SIMPLE steps… so I wanted to share them in case YOU are on the verge of a business breakthrough (and I believe many of you ARE.)
STEP ONE: DROP THE BELIEF THAT BUSY USHERS IN SUCCESS.
This is 1) not true,
but if it WERE true for you,
can you imagine the belief you’d be embracing?
You’d be embracing a belief that would lock EVERY new level of income and success into EVER MORE busy-ness. What a NIGHTMARE.
So, drop that story entirely.
And look for evidence that it’s not true,
which is all around you.
In fact, I’ve found the opposite to be true.
Each new level of success ushers in MORE flow, MORE time, MORE peace. (Which is how I know I’m OFF COURSE when I’m feeling busy or over-scheduled.)
STEP TWO: DROP IN…
Drop FULLY in to being YOU,
drop fully in to your purpose,
your potential.
Drop IN to your own soul,
your own faith,
your own “knowing.”
From a “practical” viewpoint,
drop fully in to your message.
The more I journal, the more I spend time with my own thoughts (usually in the woods), the more DROPPED IN I am in this way, the more money I make.
Why? BECAUSE the more dropped in I am, the more aligned my message is, the more aligned my offers are, the more emails I receive saying things like, “Were you talking about me?”
The ONLY way to create ULTIMATE success (where you have unreasonable financial results) — on your own terms — is to drop more FULLY into your own unique passions, presence and point of view… and then bring MORE of yourself to market.
btw, this is true whether you’re an attorney, chiropractor, veterinarian, author, speaker, coach or accountant. People can pay for your “deliverables” ANY WHERE, but they can only get YOU… in one place.
So drop in daily,
and then excavate the messages / thoughts / shifts coming through,
and bring them to market.
STEP THREE: DROP OUT OF ANYTHING THAT’S BUSY BUT NOT ENJOYABLE OR EFFECTIVE.
The Bible says that all things are permissible but not all things are profitable. Ain’t it the truth?
Once you commit to dropping the story that busy-ness is somehow “the way,” once you commit to dropping IN on yourself, you STILL have to clear the way for your next level, in a practical sense.
This means, you’re going to have to drop out of things that are busy but not beneficial. You’re going to have to say NO, re-schedule, de-commit. You’re going to have disappoint someone.
This is okay.
It’s part of the process.
It’s what ALL of us do
as high achievers.
So, what will you DROP OUT of, starting now,
to clear the decks
for a new and previously elusive level of success, income, accomplishment?
I am so excited about what’s next.
For me,
for you.
For us
