I just returned from one of my most precious events: The Women Who WOW Working Pajama Party. This year, I made it soooo much better by bringing in Alice Edgerton from On the Edge events to handle ALL the amazing details.
We ended our intimate weekend together with a Breaking Small ceremony (aided by one of our sponsors, ReFocus Bands) and an opportunity to really dig deep into how EACH person was going to get EXACTLY where they were going in 2020… or some place better.
Of course, something was said that NEARLY had me crying– which does NOT happen in public. =) I was thanked for going “into the trenches” with my Women Who WOW members.
Because standing shoulder to shoulder with you…
because locking arms with you,
because braving the trenches with you,
(& WHATEVER ELSE this business journey brings our way)
is SUCH a heartfelt HONOR for me to do…
the tears started burning my eyes.
As is my habit,
I deflected with a joke.
“In the trenches is my natural habitat,” I said.
As is my habit,
my “jokes” are always true.
Or MAINLY true.
This one?
Well, it’s spot on.
I was born and bred for the trenches.
The hard work
the battle
the grit and grime,
the dirt under my finger nails as we dig our way back up…
the never-leave-a-fellow-preneur behind mentality.
The never say die.
The never give up.
The no rules,
hard core
GUTSY
BEING that wild success
(created ENTIRELY on your terms)
will demand.
The DEFIANT DNA
that not only refuses to lose,
but ALSO
refuses to acquiesce
even a teensy little bit
on the important things.
