Inconvenient truth: There are a lot of incredibly talented people DOING WHAT THEY ARE INCREDIBLY TALENTED AT DOING who cannot financially support themselves in business. Why?
Because being incredible,
being exceptional,
even being THE BEST at what you do,
isn’t TRULY a marketable advantage.
In fact, some may even call it the “price of admission,”
a baseline.
Still, being EXCEPTIONAL at whatever it is you do is foundational to your success and it CAN contribute to your LONGEVITY in a particular industry… but only IF you can figure out how to SELL what you’re exceptional at DOING.
Otherwise, you’ll be unable to support yourself and you’ll EVENTUALLY join others of your ilk… incredibly talented professionals who are begrudgingly working for someone else.
Assuming being exceptional is your BASELINE, your FOUNDATION of your financial success, here’s the REST of what you need:
💰 You’ll need WALLS.
Walls will help define what you do for FREE (for marketing purposes) and what you do for a FEE. Walls are boundary markers, so that YOU (and your market) know where the free stuff ends and the professional relationship begins.

Essentially, WALLS (in my world and yours) separate those who are ABSOLUTELY committed from those who are just passing through… Citizens from tourists.
in my world, walls separate US,
the Women Who WOW
from others who are
“trying things out,”
or still trying to find that MAGIC system,
still SEPARATING their entrepreneurial success
from their purpose,
from their calling,
from their voice
from themselves…
still thinking they’ll do it eventually,
or can do it alone,
or need a paint by numbers,
step by step
blueprint that someone else developed
in a land
and in a time
far far away.
HINT: Everyone in your world starts as a tourist. When they show up, your free content should give them a PEAK into what’s behind the wall… what “association” of people they’ll join by coming inside, what benefits they should expect, etc. Tourists who pass through the land of WOW will immediately know whether they need to BUY IN or MOVE ON.
Like me in New York City.
I come as a tourist.
And for the first 15 minutes,
I’m energized by the people and the pace.
I marvel over it.
I smile widely.
But then…
typically within the first HOUR,
I realize,
THIS ISN’T FOR ME. 😊
This says nothing about NYC.
A lot of people love it.
And this says nothing about me.
I just will NEVER be a citizen of the city.
I’ll ALWAYS be just passing through.
Same goes for the tourists you attract via your marketing. Some will LOVE you,
and want to STAY permanently.
Others will just move on.

💰 You’ll need WINDOWS AND DOORS.
You’ll need to give people a GLIMPSE of what’s going on behind the walls you’ve built AND an entry point…
I was just advising a group of thousands of membership site owners on this exact topic. To REALLY leverage (and get to know) the “tourists,” you must show them what they are missing out ON (a window into your paid world) and have an entry-level offer (a door) they can walk through.
The entry offer is just your lowest dollar offer (typically.) For me, this is Women who WOW membership. No trial offers. No $1 months, lol… Just AN offer, designed to be a HELL YES for the right women entrepreneurs. It’s the least expensive and MOST impactful way to get started with me.

❓ ❓ How will you give tourists a PEAK into what’s waiting for them behind the wall? EVEN A SALES PAGE CAN DO THIS. EXAMPLE:
💰 You’ll need SIDEWALKS and ROADS
Inroads… that reach WAY into the mainstream market and call out to people who should visit you. Something ANYTHING that lets people know that you EXIST and are ready to serve them.
The options for this are endless and infinite, but include:
- billboards
- radio ads
- media mentions
- books
- commercials
- blogging
- podcasting
- Facebook lives.

You’ll need to have a HEART for people.. everyone from the tourists in the front yard, to those who have chosen to come inside and make a home.
You’ll need to WELCOME them,
OOZE your passion for them…
connect them to YOU,
to EACH OTHER
and to THEIR POTENTIAL….
People STAY where they feel WELCOME and appreciated.

This, by the way, is just a simple sales system.
Have something for FREE (a bait offer)
something to buy (an offer)
a way to give people a GLIMPSE of what they get when they buy;
a way to make your work VISIBLE to the outside world
and a HEART for the people you serve.
