Many people are struggling in business right now.
šThe UBER experienced, those who’d previously had 6- or even 7-figure MONTHS.
š The newbies.
š Those who felt they were doing well… maybe “on the cusp” of really breaking through before buying psychology changed when inflation shot prices for nearly everything through the roof.
BUT, money is flowing. To me.
And — to be clear — not in some mystical way. This is not an affirmation, it is an observation.
4-figure days.
5-figure days.
And it’s flowing to others.
LOTS of it.
Money is always moving. Unfortunately, because money is so important to so many of us (and it IS important…) we leave ourselves vulnerable to deception. Couple the NEED for money with the DESIRE to make it “passively,” lol… and well, you can hopefully BEGIN to see the problem.
To be clear, I KNOW financial need. I once had a coach remark that I acted like money was as important as oxygen. And, I did. When the money was dwindling I FELT like the oxygen was leaving the room, and let me tell you… I didn’t react PASSIVELY. I damn near clawed for it. Worked for it. Put myself out there.
Anyway, there are infinite piles of BS out there being sold as success advice. In this post, I’ll just share my top — most recent — irritants.
š„ PASSIVE income is a fool’s errand. LEVERAGED income, though, where you do something once and get paid for it over and over and over again… is totally do-able and recommended. BUT you DO have to have something to leverage. š Same for scaling. I hear from business owners all the time “scaling” and they’re in the infancy of their business… below $100K. LOOK towards scale, but first… get yourself a solid foundation.
š„ BACKEND B.S. Oh, if I had a dollar for every person who — when asked why they weren’t making money — was working on their “back end” lol… I could build a house with that money. I’m not saying it’s not important… but this is a business. If you have to SHUT DOWN YOUR MONEY FLOW to work on your back end, you’re doing something wrong. You might get a date for your back end, lol… but no one is going to hire you because your backend is so tidy.
š„ BUILDING BEFORE YOU SELL is insanity. There’s a coach out there who charges $10K to tell you what I’m telling you now. Think up an idea. Write the sales page. SELL THAT THING. If it sells, build it out. Get paid to build it out. If it doesn’t sell, you can move on to the next thing. Not once have I EVER created a program before I sold it.
btw, this doesn’t JUST WORK in the online space. It’s why my parent’s company doesn’t build spec houses. Build to suit a BUYER.
š„ AUTOMATION IS COOL… but again, who is going to hire you / pay you because you “pretend so good” to be actively engaged. š Automation totally has its place. BUT why not show up live? Interact in real time? Why not be REAL about the fact that you aren’t online all the freaking time? Many of you are scheduled out so perfectly that the MAGIC of being actively engaged is missing. And active engagement, real conversation brings in the cash.
š„ ABOUT YOUR CHILDHOOD BLOCKS, INNER CHILD WORK, OR EVEN YOUR MONEY BLOCKS.. CHAKRA BLOCKS, ALL THESE THINGS…
they are not keeping you from making money.
healing them will not make you make more money.
Now, healing them MAY help you be more consistent with doing the things that WILL make you more money. (Marketing, selling…) but AFTER you heal whatever you have to heal, you’ll STILL have to do the work that makes you money.
So, sure… heal the things. It’s great / important / critical to take care of the boss. BUT after all of that, if you want money, you’ll STILL Have to take care of the business end of things.
And while I’m pissing people off…
š„YOU ARE NOT ONE FUNNEL / ONE WEBINAR / ONE WHATEVER AWAY.
Funnels have a START place. People have to CONSENT to enter them. Same with webinars. You have to have a PLAN and a CONSISTENT HABIT for doing the basics of business marketing.
But a funnel or webinar with no audience and no market paying attention to you is a silly waste of time and money.
Bottom line: NOTHING replaces the basics. Nothing. And the basics are simple.
š„KNOW what you are selling, who needs it and why.
š„ KNOW why they should buy that from you, vs. any other option out there.
š„ KNOW where these people are hanging out. You will need to go there.
š„ CREATE A HABIT of being in conversation with these people… (content marketing)
š„ CREATE A HABIT of getting attention of new people.
š„ CREATE A HABIT of selling. You sell because it’s generous, because you can help. (Invitational marketing FEELS great and makes a great deal of money.)
š„KEEP GOING.
Yes, scale & automate as you go, after you get past that $100K mark. Heal what needs to be healed. Work on your back end. But the money making… is in everything I just said. I have a special training happening at 11 AM EST. Comment if you want the link. Or message me. Whatever. š
