I don’t read Cosmo magazine any more.
But when I did, it was the sex “advice” that got me so riled up. It was so mechanical, so stupid, SO basic that it missed the point.
I remember telling someone, “If you need THIS sort of advice, you are way too young to be even THINKING about sex… and if you LOVE or are even INTERESTED in sex… following this advice would actually HINDER you in the bedroom.”
Why?
Because passion…
because flow…
because unrelenting DESIRE…
eliminates ALL need for following some step-by-step “tutorial” written by who-knows-who?
In other words, it misses the point.
It goes straight to BASIC mechanics, but skipped over the stuff that makes sex so incredible, natural and satisfying: The nearly animalistic passion, the desire, the complete LACK of a need for instructions.
If you’re doing it right, lol…
step -by – step instructions will cool it all down,
and IN A HURRY.
Business advice is the same.
MOST of what I see “out there”
skips over the important stuff…
the intangible stuff..
the stuff that makes you YOU,
the stuff that separates you from anyone else,
the stuff that allows your ANIMAL MAGNETISM to come forth..
and skips INSTEAD to the
DRY,
BORING,
MECHANICAL,
DRUDGERY-MAKING,
stepfordpreneur B.S. that will leave you always a day late and a dollar short.
Like the cosmo sex advice that needs to either shut up or start WAY earlier in the “sex process,” focusing on cultivating PASSION and RAW DESIRE… business advice (worth following) starts WAY earlier in the marketing and selling process, focusing on POSITIONING.
❌Instead of learning rote words to “close deals,”
✅ start on becoming the person everyone wants to work with…
❌Instead of learning another dry strategy for selling from the stage,
✅ start with becoming the speaker that people NATURALLY desire more from…
❌Instead of learning MORE about how to “leverage” the clients you’re still fighting tooth and nail to get,
✅begin positioning yourself as the coach / speaker / doctor / photographer / attorney who CHOOSES her clients.
If you’re focusing on mechanics,
but you don’t YET have a passionate following,
you’re making success WAY harder
and WAY slower
than it needs to be.
