Many people start building funnels and creating PRE-scheduled webinars and even paying to drive (cold) traffic to said webinars all WITHOUT testing a LIVE, WARM webinar with an audience that knows you.
More “systems”
less ACTUAL conversations.
I DO get it… that asking people to buy from you can feel vulnerable. WHAT IF THEY SAY NO? And — look — they WILL say NO. BUT it comes down to DO YOU BELIEVE IN YOUR ABILITY TO HELP THEM OR NOT?
If you do, keep asking.

For 2022, look at where you’ve built “distance,” in leu of intimacy, where you’ve replaced presence with pretense, where you’ve removed the VERY THING that sets your business apart (Hint: it’s yoU) and come back to it.
Scaling to multi-six-figures ACTUALLY demands effort in retaining this intimacy as you grow. Pre-six-figures… well, it’s a no brainer. Show up and talk to your people.
Their Secret Sauce is NOT the step-by-step system they’re selling you.
It never is.

and someone else keeps struggling
is ALWAYS about THE WAY you show up…
your energy,
your unapologetic magnetism,
which CAN ONLY SHOW UP
when you are being more and more you.
YES, get the systems if you want.
I invest a TON of money on mentoring each year.
LOOK for commonalities between the successful people you admire.
IDENTIFY principles that work wherever they’re applied,
but then…
for the love of all thing’s holy,
implement YOUR WAY,
make YOURSELF part of your own success equation.

and will NEVER work in marketing.

Keep a CONSTANT eye on business development. This means measuring your sales, income, opportunities.
Never WAIT for people to tell others about the amazing work you do. ORCHESTRATE these conversations. CHOREOGRAPH them. Leverage them.
A doctor, wellness center owner, therapist and coach whom I met with yesterday, haphazardly mentioned that she got more out of 15 minutes with me than SIX HOURS with her “other coach.” THIS is a conversation I’ll for sure leverage.
Actually, never wait for anything that you can create for yourself,
which — frankly —
is most things.
Do the OPPOSITE of what you see most other people doing. MOST people are wrong about most things. There’s a REASON most people aren’t healthy, wealthy and in love. Don’t follow the way of the masses to being lazy, fat & miserable…
In absence of an actual business plan,
do this:
Look at what everyone else is doing and don’t do that. (Earl Nightingale.)
Don’t forget — when you buy these instagram templates and social media domination blueprints — that the POINT of marketing… is to stand out. If you follow the stepfordpreneur march, you’ll always fit in. Yuck.
Keep everything simple. I ask myself constantly: Is the NORMAL, LOGICAL outcome of what I’ve planned (this year, this week, this day) going to get me closer to my goals?
Know this: nothing is nuetral and humans don’t “stand still.” You’re either moving CLOSER to fulfilling your full potential, or further away. You get to decide. Decide courageously.
I’ve never regretted going my own way or doing my own thing.
Get your need for approval, acceptance, approval met ELSEWHERE. Do not burden your business with these goals that it was never meant to bare.
Before you BUY advice from someone, look at what they’re DOING. Does it line up with what they’re telling YOU to do in whatever they’re selling?
There are a lot of life coaches whose lives are shit shows. People over 200 pounds selling weight loss recipes. Business coaches who have NOT yet built a successful business. Remember when online dating or chatrooms FIRST came on the scene? And people were cautious?
Yeah, we should be that way today. KNOW who you are buying from and working with. Are they LIVING it? or Faking it?
Longevity matters. A lot.
Start wherever you are.
Everyone is a beginner sometime.
But when you are looking to upgrade your game,
go where the grizzled veterans are hanging out.
Social media numbers do NOT equal success. EVEN in the online industry. Don’t be fooled into measuring “impressions” instead of income. They simply don’t equate.
