We all know the Pareto Principle that states that 80% of the results come from 20% of the actions. In other words, 20% of what you do is what produces 80% of what you want.
It’s a principle that holds true across the board, but especially in business.
Most people discuss this as an impetus to focus on doing MORE of that 20% that’s producing your best results and less of “the rest.”
In case you’re wondering, this is a great and worthy habit. I abide by it, and am constantly looking, measuring, and tweaking my own daily routine to do only the things that REALLY produce.
BUT….
but what about the OTHER side of that 80/20 rule?
the side we ignore?
the side that reminds us that 80% of what we do DOES NOT produce the desired effect?
In other words, roughly 80% of what we do will fail.
Gulp.
That’s a sobering thought, right?
According to Pareto, 80% of the actions we take “won’t work” or won’t work as well as we’d hoped.
Enter the secret weapon for women entrepreneurs: An innate AND finely tuned personal RESILIENCE.
Defined simply as “toughness” in some dictionaries, resilience is the ability to bounce back from difficulty or disappointment. In other words, a resilient entrepreneur will KEEP moving, despite disappointment or difficulty.
