I should know.
I follow recipes in the kitchen.
And, my family asks me DIRECTLY
if I FOLLOWED the recipe
EXACTLY….
or not. =)
Why?
Because following my GUT in the kitchen,
typically turns out not-so-good.
I have NO talent,
let alone MAGIC
in the kitchen.
I dated a guy once,
who was MAGIC in the kitchen.
I mean, it didn’t matter if he was making a sandwich…
or fried rice
(two of my FAVORITE things on his menu that– honestly —
i don’t even LIKE if he’s not cooking.)
He NEVER followed a recipe.
And I never saw him measure anything.
It was — and is — his PUREST genius.
But me?
I know my limits.
And so, I will typically follow a recipe.
I measure everything out,
follow the steps, even.
A little stepford cook, I am.
But in business…
and in the bedroom, lol….
I am supremely confident.
So, I would NEVER follow a step by step.
I would never watch a video and mimic the star.
I would NEVER connect the dots and follow someone else’s system. I would never try to look like someone else or act like someone else.
WHY?
For the same reason a TRUE chef
doesn’t follow someone else’s recipe.
It would limit / remove / reduce their magic.
Recipes are for the insecure and unconfident.
Those who are SUPREMELY confident
in a particular area…
just
show
up.
AND FULLY OWN THE SPACE.
They follow their own FLOW.
They do NOT second guess.
They decide quickly, often in the moment.
They get inspired and run with it.
They think, decide and then DO.
And in this messy-ness,
in this RECIPE-less land,
their magic, their GIFTING is unleashed and seen…
and profitable.
So, given ALL of this?
Why do I EVEN bother with what I DO for a living?
If there are NO recipes,
no step-by-steps,
WHAT DO I TEACH, EXACTLY?
Principles, baby.
Principles that are TRUE no matter WHAT or WHO or WHERE.
Principles that stand TALL and FIRM and allow the MAGIC, the GENIUS, the UNIQUE GIFTING of EACH different Woman Who WOWS to FLOW into her HIGHEST calling and God-given purpose on this Earth.
It’s the principles that have the power to GUIDE without DULLING our shine.
Not the rules.
Not the how to.
Principles.
