this isn’t the post for you to read. =)
Incidentally, I don’t mind pain or struggle when it’s purposeful… when it BUILDS me… when it “hurts so good.” But you and I both know that’s not what I’m talking about here.
I’m talking about the world where you’re doing all you know to do, and it still isn’t enough. I mean, you make some money. And then a little more. But your expenses go up, and you start really hustling harder, faster… because you’re — OF COURSE — on the brink… ready to breakthrough. You start systemizing, dotting your i’s, crossing your t’s, learning the funnels and the new “it” software being pitched by the new “it” girl and taking notes when a new name starts “revealing” a new (BRAND SPANKING NEW) success strategy…
only to find,
that SOMEHOW,
I mean, you can’t even imagine it,
because how could this be possible????
But SOMEHOW
all this work and getting fancy
has made you LESS money.
I know, I know…
it seems unfair.
But, what if this VERY routine you’ve been perfecting all of these years teaches you the most important lesson of all? What if the PAIN actually revealed the PROFIT?
What if??
You see, I did the same thing.
I got into business,
gutted it out,
made “enough” money to “make ends meet,”
and kept my lights on and my doors open.
All fine and good.
But when I wanted more, I hired coaches.
I attended events and took FEVERISH notes.
I watched stars rises from obscurity into main stage fame,
and watched some fall out of the limelight just as fast.
I watched MAINLY those who stayed.
Because longevity counts. A lot.
And I wasn’t watching “passively.”
(I don’t do anything “passively.” I am deliberate if nothing else.)
I watched with INTENT.
I wanted to see what they DID,
how they did it,
how often they did it,
with what tools.
Of course I watched what they SAID,
and sometimes bought what they SOLD.
But mainly, I watched what they DID.
(You know what came as a surprise? The irony gap… between what they SAID they did and what they ACTUALLY did in plain sight. I’ll come back to that.)
My philosophy was VERY simple:
1) If THEY can, so can I.
and
2) Success leaves clues.
So, I would simply follow the clues… which is EXACTLY what I did.
Every leader you follow
EACH and EVERY one
(if they’ve been around a while…
making them a TESTED example to follow)
uses / has a DIFFERENT:
- software system
- affiliate circles (although sometimes these are incestuous)
- website strategy
- personality.
I do NOT care what they teach. Launch formulas, E-marketing, Funnels, Software as Service, Book Publishing, Podcasting, Manifesting, Affiliate marketing, Webinars. REGARDLESS of what they are selling YOU,
if they are TRULY successful (profitable on their own terms)
They
are
applying
proven (and OLD as the hills) success principles
consistently and
authentically.
REGARDLESS of what they SAY,
they KNOW (for a fact)
that joining the dots
following the leader,
fancying up…
IS NOT THE WAY TO CREATE TRUE SUCCESS.
Period.
So, it’s NO wonder when we look ELSEWHERE for our success system,
that we start floundering…
and start making LESS money
all while working some brilliant “system” to up our game.
You see, when we’re learning that system,
filling that funnel,
making sure we’re doing AS we’re told by the new system or plan we just bought….
we step away from our own magic.
Put another way…
your OWN magic and ALLURE
took a back seat to THEIR rules, system or software.
You stepped AWAY from relying on your own message to be ENOUGH, and thought that “they” may be able to give you something you didn’t already have.
The KEY to making more money..
and then more besides…
without the whole feast or famine thing,
so that your income is one you can COUNT ON and be proud of…
is to apply SOME systems for leverage
BUT ONLY ON TOP of a solid, firm foundation of your OWN magic..
Look around you.
Look at those you buy from, learn from, follow.
They are doing EXACTLY this,
their own way.
Now, they may be selling you a magic system or a magic strategy or a magic software.
BUT, the ONLY magic we can monetize
Is
our
own.
So, how are you taking YOUR magic center stage?
Daily?
How are you putting your OWN magic on display… DAILY?
And… maybe,
what formalized process or system MAY have upstaged your own special sauce? How can you bring it back to the forefront?
I HATE the way facebook’s new formatting works, and it’s frustrating me to keep typing here. So, I’ll just say this: CONTENT. Daily, deliberate, RAW, Aligned, Authentic content… WITH ALLURE and AUTHORITY is the PRIMARY thing ALL success stories have in common.
All of them. From Benjamin Franklin to Dr. Robert Brinkley to Robert Allen to Dan Kennedy to whomever YOU are watching.
And there is NO “nobody”
doing BETTER
with content marketing than me. =)
