This morning, one of our Women Who WOW members asked me a question about a “guru” I follow online. “What is the DRAW,” she asked.
This person is someone I like, someone I follow LOOSELY and have for many years. However, he is — you know– a bit of a time waster. (The guru, not the member.)
He talks a lot about his “stuff.”
The tan, the workouts, the music scene, the marathons, the relationships, the travel.
His blog posts are long.
His live streams are long, and a bit rambl-y.
Her: WHO HAS TIME TO READ ALL OF THAT STUFF?
Me: His people, that’s who.
People still trying to figure out “their thing,”
people still wrestling with issues of “worthiness” or “readiness…”
people who believe that they MUST get all of this “sorted” before they REALLY get to work,
people who LOVE to give that proverbial FIST PUMP in the air before they get back to the regularly scheduled programming of figuring out their next move.
And so…. they wait for his posts.
They jump on immediately…
And YES, I believe they read it. every word.
To each their own, but..
The Women Who WOW community IS different.
Do we feel not ready? or uninspired? or even intimidated at times?
Yes.
But we typically don’t belabor it. =)
We get to work.
Habitually.
Consistently.
Regardless.
We’re not all sitting around waiting for the muse to strike. =) We’re attorneys and surgeons and coaches and financial planners and trainers… with ACTUAL clients, with schedules that we KEEP, with deadlines and all of that “jazz.”
So, no….
our people don’t think it’s CUTE for me to talk about my date with the sexy waitress at the bar for 18 minutes before I finally get to my training.
In fact, Women Who WOW members would find that sort of thing insulting.
We HONOR our own time,
and if I were to DIS-HONOR their showing up, by rambling on and on about my date from last night when I promised them a training on SELLING, for example, they’d find it rude.
So, yeah… it’s different.
WE are different.
This means I have to plan differently,
promote differently,
schedule differently.
That’s why I start on time,
end on time,
provide a membership site for them to “binge” on — on their own time.
But, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Our women are do-ers.
They’re heart-centered “hustlers.”
They’re driven and determined.
They’re brilliant AND busy, at times.
And
they
are
SUCCESSFUL.
Does this mean they — or I — have it all figured out?
No.
I make it all up
every single day,
as I go along. =)
And Women who WOW members,
they tune in… dial in…
WHILST continuing on their own path.
And twice a month, I meet with them in real time.
From now on, starting today..

So we can all learn from them.
Because these ARE the women to learn from.
Their questions ARE revealing, nuanced and just SMART.
