Made FOR moms, BY moms can BEST describe THESE incredible sponsors. Moms who solved their OWN problem and then…. made it into a business.
Meet Zaida Khaze, who started Wiggle Tots to solve a universal problem ALL moms face. Her daughter — like all kids — became wiggly at 5 months old during diaper changes, wiggling to avoid laying down in a soiled diaper. The liquid leakage from her diaper required a lot of clean up and Zaida was doing the laundry almost everyday. She would have to wash, discard and replace many items. Like many mompreneurs Khaze created the first Wiggletot Diaper Changer for her own personal use with her first baby.
The biggest lesson Zaida has learned as an entrepreneur was about time. She needed to learn how to balance her time better when it came to growing her business. She also learned how crucial posting, pitching, connecting and following-up with people in her niche was. Like Khaze, April Ready — the Founder of Pookuh Baby — is also a mom. When her two daughters were babies, she used baby bibs constantly. However, when she would put the bibs on, they would play with them and eventually the bib would get turned around or flop to the side and her babies clothes would be ruined with food or drool. That’s when April decided to stop this problem so many moms have with baby bibs and add an easy concept that is functional. She invented Poo-kuh Baby to help keep baby bibs in place. It is unique because it has a soft adjustable strap that loosely wraps around the baby’s waist to secure the bib.
April got tired of having to fix her babies bib while she played on the floor or during dinner. She was done with the messy onesies and constant soaked clothes from a bib that could turn into a cape within 2 seconds… and so she created a solution. April has learned three important lessons in her business journey.
“First, tenacity- you have to have the drive and persistence to run the race because there will be ups and downs as you build and maintain your business. Second, execute – you have to have a marketing plan that shows how you are going to reach your success. My coach has taught me to take care of the little things. One thing at a time, as long as you execute, you will get closer to your goal. And third, consistency – Even when it doesn’t look like the vision you made for your business is going they right way, don’t stop. Consistency in learning and maintaining will help you grow.”

Finally, because I am ALL about being cozy (AT ANY AGE) meet Mom of 6, Angelyn Myres. She turned her idea, My Buddy Towel, into a product in less than a year. Her daughter insisted on using so many towels after her bath, which made mountains of towel laundry. So, one day after this routine Myers had a light bulb moment. She researched online and couldn’t find anything that dried like a towel, but functioned like a onesie.
Of course, she designed her own. She made a prototype, contacted a manufacturer, and in a few weeks she had factory made samples. She says, “It was amazing to see an idea come to life!” The Original My “Buddy” Towel® was born. After that came patent and trademark filing, and then negotiating prices and quantities with the manufacturer. Soon enough, Angelyn had her first batch of green frogs for sale online, in boutiques, and at a waterpark. This month, My Buddy Towel will be releasing 2 new designs!
The biggest lesson Angelyn Myers has learned is not everyone is going to get your product, unless you have a relatable problem that your product solves!
