I think a lot of marriages could be made SO MUCH BETTER by US — the husband AND the wife — not getting sloppy… still CARING what the other thinks of us, and by leaving just a BIT of mystery in our romance…
Even though this man of mine has held back my hair while I’m vomiting my guts up and held me up while I squeeze a 9-pound baby out of my vagina… he STILL appreciates seeing me “all done up” every once in a while.
But, the opposite truth is at play in too many businesses. We women may be letting it all go at home, we’re Super (WAY TOO) buttoned up in the market place….
Shying away from showing “too much” of ourselves, our message, our calling.
Stopping JUST short of TRUE authenticity.
Sure, we show up — most of us — but we show up less often as we could. WHY? Because it’s SO MUCH WORK this way. When we’re on “first date” behavior with our market, we are presenting a facade…. a SAMPLE of ourselves, a snapshot, a profile picture… but it’s just so….
tempered.
measured.
Deliberate.
Polished.
I started this talking about getting sloppy in marriage. But consider the opposite: What if you only showed up as that facebook-approved picture of yourself to your husband or partner? How DEEP could that marriage really go?
Not deep at all.
Just skin deep.
Just surface stuff.
Just the stuff cleaned up for public consumption.
My call for women entrepreneurs is to STOP HOLDING BACK in your message, in your business… to MOVE BEYOND first date behavior and into more intimate communications with your market.
More authentic.
More real.
More honest.
More direct.
More ALL IN.
More courageous.
More YOU.
Do I want you to get sloppy? Absolutely not. There’s no excuse for that. But do I want you to show up REAL and RAW? Absolutely yes.
Because going DEEP is where the GOLD is.
Not just “money gold,”
but relationship gold… which is where the TRUE WEALTH resides.
One of the things I love about Women Who WOW is our intimacy, how we shoulder each other’s burdens and celebrate each other’s wins. The other day, I was having a TOUGH day. Hideous stress, anxiety, overwhelm. And I clicked onto Facebook to see Lisa Smith — one of our long time members — celebrating a money win. It literally made my day. This morning, I heard from one of our dearest members… who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. And my heart broke, and I know many of our members are already reaching out to her with heartfelt messages of hope and prayer and encouragement.
Women Who WOW has become something I never before dreamt it could be. It is TRULY a sisterhood. I’ve never had a sister, but I have hundreds now. So, if you are a member and you’ve checked out for a bit… message me. Let’s catch up. you ARE missed. And if you are a seriously driven woman entrepreneur, message me. The doors to Women Who WOW will open soon and I want you to join us. (You can find out more here: bmichellepippin.com/womenwhowow)
