Superfast is a seductive term. And if that’s what brought you to this article, GREAT. Welcome. Below — as promised — I’ve listed a few simple Strategies Designed to Up Your Profit. These are strategies that take you less than 10 minutes to implement… and they are strategies that will produce a return quickly.
However, before we get to that, there are some TRUTHS you have to know about speed and business. It may seem like they conflict, but they do not.
First things first, business loves speed.
Even in weight loss the old adage of “taking it off slow” has been disputed and proven false. When tasked with losing 15 % of their body weight in either 12 or 36 weeks, 80% of those with the shorter time frame were successful vs. only 50% who had nearly triple the time. Business is the same way. Speed. Tight deadlines. The hustle. It all works to your advantage. So, fall in love with it.
Careful: Speed is a double edged sword. It can work against you!
Momentum is what we are after here. We want to work on multiple fronts and push multiple agendas forward DAILY and simultaneously. Business and money do LOVE speed. However, speed and busy-ness can not replace strategy and focus. In fact, most business owners experience a LOT of feeling rushed and “out of time” but do very little to build business momentum and their bottom line. In THIS case, they are moving so quickly that they can literally be tripping over piles of profit and not know it! They’re chasing leads so quickly, they are leaving each lead UN-converted… UN-seduced… UN-monetized. These folks need to slow down.
So, be cautious. Look to create momentum and achieve quickly…. but don’t be so busy you’re leaving profit on the table. With all of that said, I want to give you a few 10 minute strategies anyone can do — whenever they find a 10 minute “gap” in their schedule. (btw, I swiped this 10-minute approach from Timorah Beales, a forward-thinking business owner, reservist, military wife, and extraordinary photographer!)
Got 10 Minutes? Fill it with these sales-focused activities:
- Reach out to a business that sells to your demographic and set up a time to talk shop regarding ways you can work together to better serve your own clients.
- Follow up (via phone or email) with lost clients or leads.
- Reach out personally to those who recently joined your mailing list.
- Post a quick blog post asking for TOP QUESTIONS your market wants answered.
- Send out a handwritten thank you note to the last person who sent you a referral.
- Ask for testimonials… and then — once you get them — SHARE THEM!
- Make sure you’re connected with and engaging with prospects via social media.
Every 10 minute activity adds up! Speed is fast, but momentum is better. Momentum happens when we use even small pockets of time to generate and close leads!
