I was once asked what I’d have to do to DOUBLE my income in 3 months. I completely rejected the question and clarified my need, “Doubling won’t be enough.”
“What about tripling your income?”
Frankly, the true state of my finances were such that even TEN TIMES-ing my income wasn’t going to be enough. But it was a worthy place to start.
I did MANY things during that 3 month period, but the simplest, most PROFITABLE thing I did was this:
I looked at what I had responded to sales-wise. In other words, what sales strategies had worked on me? Which sales strategies made me feel confident spending?
This was a super simple “trick” that did two important things:
- It gave me a place to start. I was no longer looking at and working off of a blank page. I had a model to follow.
- With focused evaluation, I began to see how a true sales sequence worked together. This was critical. I learned that the purchases I felt BEST about were those in which education and relationship were paramount in the marketing / sales sequences.
With my product for coaches, I’ll go into more specific details regarding exactly how I used this one simple trick to re-engineer my entire business… but for NOW, the following suggestion should reveal a whole WORLD of strategy and copy suggestions for your own use:
EVALUATE what “sequences” you’ve responded to in the past. What went into them? How many steps were in the sequence? What came first? What came next? How were your objections handled? When did the company or individual make the actual ask?
