FIRST comes the WILLINGNESS to sell (mindset),
THEN comes the MASTERY of selling (skill set).
BOTH are required for success.
If I’ve seen this once, I’ve seen it 1000 times.
đź’Ą The coach who can’t make enough money selling coaching, so they invest in another niche of coach certification.
đź’ĄThe MLM-er who can’t make enough money selling X product, so they invest in being able to sell Y product.
đź’Ą The business owner who can’t make enough money selling their “stuff” so they invest in all manner of trainings, certifications, software, list building courses and more….
Never realizing that the only thing
the FIRST thing,
the most IMPORTANT thing
they need to invest in,
REALLY…
is learning how to SELL… period.
Scratch that.
The FIRST thing they need to invest in
is a concerted effort to muster
to cultivate,
to GENERATE…
to manufacture
the WILLINGNESS to sell.
I know that may sound crazy,
but I’ve seen it way too many times.
Otherwise SAVVY entrepreneurs
investing an OUTRAGEOUS amount of time AND money…
in preparing to sell…
in automating the sales process…
in re-engineering their sales offer….
in basically ANYTHING and EVERYTHING,
that promises to delay…
the sale itself.
Now, this form of sabotage
and delay is expensive,
so it’s typically seen by people who are husband-funded, have money coming in through a lucrative job,
or trust fund
or inheritance of some sort.
Because if you don’t have money coming in from SOMEWHERE, you may not be exactly “comfortable” selling,
but the WILLINGNESS to sell is generated naturally by
you know,
the bills that need to be paid. =) #beentheresoldthat =)
Once you’re willing,
you need to be SKILLED at selling,
whether you choose to sell one to one, one to many, from the stage, via the written page, online or off. Doesn’t matter your platform, you need to be SKILLED at the skill itself.
Make no mistake,
There are no — or few —
“Natural born sales people.”
SELLING is a skill
that can be taught and learned,
by you.
