To succeed in business, if you’ve been heeding my advice at all =) you’re training yourself to ASK for the SALE. You’re in those FOUR selling conversations a day. You are no longer content to let networking relationships linger in “potential” phase… You’re no longer HOPING people buy from you. You’re ASKING them to buy from you.
If you’re doing this, you’ll be hearing some NO’s. And, that reality – while necessary – is also disheartening, discouraging and frustrating! So how do we combat that? How do we stay actively engaged in these selling conversations without losing steam?
We learn the most important word for the small business owner’s vocabulary, which is.. drumroll please: NEXT.
Every time you hear a NO, train yourself to mentally – or even audibly – say, “NEXT!” without spending any time contemplating:
- what the NO means (HINT: It means nothing… just “not now”.)
- if all hope is lost (It’s not.)
- If ANYONE will buy your idea, product or service is a lost cause. (It’s not.)
NO.
Next.
NO.
Next.
YES. Perfect…… =) But still…. NEXT!! On to your next YES!
