You know what’s funny… in a sad and weird way? When we call ourselves women of faith, when we talk about prayer, when we say we “believe” and then… shun EVERY suggestion God gives us when He shows up to help. 
And we’re not alone, right? The Bible is full of examples of people praying for answers, having God Himself show up and then… promptly beginning to argue with God about his suggestions. Moses argued with God. Gideon needed more proof and then, more proof. Sarah doubted God and laughed in His face. Jonah ran / hid from God.
Anyway, I want to talk about it….
Because after watching the Self-Made Netflix series about Madam CJ Walker, I am on FIRE. The way she TRUSTED her ideas as whispers from God, backed herself, and followed God’s example of dreaming big….
Well…. First, it should be required viewing for all women entrepreneurs. And second, we should ALL be not only INSPIRED by her example but also convicted by it… Her ballsiness, her willingness to hear God’s voice and IMMEDIATELY push forward is something we could all stand to emulate.
Today, I make a public commitment to do just that.
I implore you to make your own commitment in the comments below. To inspire others. To clarify your own intentions. And for some public accountability.
But first, let’s look at the weird ways in which we ARGUE with God when He shows up… just so we don’t DELUDE ourselves with stories of us being “wise” or “measured” or “patient.”

You know, in case he “forgot” or somehow didn’t know. Just in case He swooshes by to plant a dream in your heart without checking the weather first… just in case He is all of the sudden intimidated by and limited by YOUR current circumstances.
C’mon.
Hopefully you’re laughing WITH me at the absurdity of arguments with God like, “I love that idea, God… but you know, with everything going on…. I think I should pass.”
He knows.
He gets it.
He is NOT intimidated by your circumstances,
and does NOT intend for you to be either.
** 2 Timothy 1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.**
💎 WE HATE TO POINT IT OUT, BUT HAS GOD FORGOTTEN HOW INEPT & INFERIOR HE MADE US?? 💎
I love this one. God lovingly plants the seed of a dream in our heart, or whispers the next bold step we should take to reach OUR promised land…. and then we criticize His most proud and loved creation: Us.

Don’t you love when people put down what you LOVINGLY created? lol..

As if God’s plans and direction are just a casual “if you feel like it” type of thing. One of my favorite things about God is how PRACTICAL He is…and being practical, wasting time isn’t one of His super fun past times.
He doesn’t waste time.
Or His presence.
Or His plans.
He doesn’t just spew ideas out to see where they land. YOU, woman, have a purpose. A God-created, God-breathed PURPOSE and those “ideas” you have could VERY WELL be God planting a dream in your heart.
What would LIFE be like if you took these whispers seriously????
**Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.**
God isn’t a Santa Claus God… making all of your dreams come true. God is the One who PLANTS the dream in your heart in the first place…..
allowing YOU the privilege,
the honor,
the growth opportunity,
the faith-building journey
of bringing it into full fruition.
So, ummmm
Let’s reconsider the whole,
“Maybe later God.. thanks for stopping by” argument.
Moving on.
💎Sometimes we don’t argue audibly. MANY times we RUN… and HIDE… OFTEN in “busyness,” “overwhelm,” and “don’t know how.” 💎
Oh, you thought I was going to let you off the hook, right? Because you don’t ACTUALLY challenge God? Oh no, woman. YOu’d NEVER do that.
You just pretend not to hear.
You’re just so “busy,” and “overwhelmed…”
and LATER — of course, later — you’ll “get quiet” and listen for the whispers of God.
Because the whispers you’ve heard so far,
couldn’t possibly be for you, right?
So, you keep running…
stay too busy,
choosing “overwhelm,”
and when the whispers
the nudges from our hearts
become SO persistent,
SO consistent,
SO undeniable,
we retreat into “don’t know how.”
Good news, friend.
God is the God of HOW.
And you are not.
All you have to do is follow the nudges,
to take the whispers seriously….
and take the next step.
You cannot hide from God or the purpose He wove into your soul. And why would you want to????
All too often,
we find ourselves
BUSILY maintaining our current “hovel”
while denying his whispers of direction, of inspiration, of guidance that would lead us FULLY into our soul-quenching promised land… designed and destined for us and us alone.
So, let’s GO woman.
NOTHING gives you the “right”
to deny your purpose,
to shirk your responsibility for doing YOUR part.
I’m doing a thing.
I don’t know what yet…
but something.
A challenge.
To help us ASCEND..
to help us RISE ABOVE
to help us GO THE DISTANCE.

If you can do it (stay the course) NOW,
there’s NO circumstance that holds enough power to hold you back…
And if you CAN’T do it nOW,
If you REFUSE to do it NOW,
there’s NO circumstance that LACKS the power to hold you back…
