Look, don’t judge me.
My “kids” are 17, 19 and 21.
And I didn’t stop cooking COMPLETELY,
but I did stop really putting my heart into it.
I just tried to cook average stuff.
My motto MAY have been nothing ventured, nothing gained, but also… no one complained.
WHY did I give up??? Because my kids became what I called the CHOIR OF COMPLAINERS.
At least one — usually more —
would complain about something I cooked.
They compared me to other moms,
who OBVIOUSLY cooked better than me,
joked on my attempts to cook healthy,
smeared my ideas.
Now, before you guys think REALLY poorly of my kids,
— although, let’s be honest
they WERE little shits about this,
but have SINCE come around! —
this has everything to do with how we lose our way in business.
We begin with some excitement.
An idea. For a business or a program or a product.
And we INFUSE this idea with our heart,
bringing our special brand of us-ness to it…
not only MAKING it what it is,
but also allowing it — OUR thing, OUR idea —
to easily stand apart from all the rest.
And then,
we serve it up to the market.
Via a blog post
or sales page
or live event…
And you know what shows up????
THE CHOIR OF COMPLAINERS.
At first, it’s the choir in our OWN minds…
editing, tweaking,
re-thinking, over-thinking
cut by cut,
threatening to
shave off some of our us-ness…
But if we DO go to the market,
and stay there long enough,
woman…
the REAL choir of complainers will show up.
We call them trolls,
but really…
they’re just people hating on us,
REAL people
who show up and don’t like:
what we’re saying,
what we stand for,
how we’re saying it,
what we’re selling
(or in some cases THAT we’re selling.)
And so there we are…
our hearts on a platter
our US-NESS packaged to sell,
ready to serve the world,
to the background noise of
a choir of complainers.
And it’s VERY tempting at this point to give up our “us-ness” to edit whatever drew criticism, to give up on our creative ideas, to shrink back into the background and avoid the choir.
I can tell you a few things about the choir of complainers.
1) If you’re doing things right, you get attention and when you get attention, the choir also takes notice and shows up…. uninvited.
2) The choir doesn’t matter and they matter less with each day of your own authentic success.
3) When you are ANCHORED in your you-ness, their complaints are laughable.
Example: I recently got one hater to wrote to me and said, “u r stupid.” Now, because there is NO ONE on this planet who can literally make me FEEL stupid, or question if I’m stupid I was completely unfazed.
Speaking of unfazed…
I’m doing training today, focused on the MINDSET and HABITS of DOLLARS ON DEMAND.
Three mindset choices.
Three corresponding habits.
One of those mindsets I’ll cover is the mindset of CALM… being unFAZED by complainers, circumstances or even our own thoughts and feelings.
What would happen to YOUR business or income if YOU were the calm in the storm? How would your goals (the big ones) be affected if you focused CALMLY, COOLY on where you were going and not got distracted, panicked, anxious over today’s circumstances?
Three things:
1) it would change everything.
2) CALM is a choice.
3) The corresponding HABIT to calm is CONSCIOUS marketing.
This training is FREE
as a bonus to the CHEAPEST
but the most effective program I’ve ever done.
Most effective in terms of helping participants generate cash. You can sign up NOW and still catch the PRE-CAP training at 2 PM EST today. https://www.bmichellepippin.com/project-10k-home-study-program-2020/
Side note: Last night, i made garlic sriracha shrimp with asparagus and filet mignon. Delicious… and, ummmm NOT ONE complainer. (They weren’t invited!)
End note: KEEP COOKING.
Keep adding your original spice to everything you do.
Ignore the choir
and sing your OWN tune!
You’ve got this!
