In my “neck of the woods,” parties are less common than what the kids call “kick backs.” These are usually smaller parties, usually around a bonfire. More intimate. (And while I’m NEVER invited to said “kick backs”) I would imagine infinitely more enjoyable.
But WHY do people gather around a bonfire?
They do so because they are COMPELLED to do so. The warmth, the dancing flames, the heat, the intimacy. I notice it on my deck, regardless of the number of people here. We’re drawn to the fire. We huddle around it. Inside, we design our rooms around the fireplace. We arrange our furniture to face it…
AND THERE’S SOMETHING TO LEARN HERE,
ABOUT BUSINESS,
ABOUT YOUR BRAND,
ABOUT YOUR MARKETING.
What if….
your actions WERE the fire? Created the fire?
What if…
you made your actions LIKE a fire that people felt compelled to watch dance?
What if YOUR HUSTLE was so compelling that others felt HONORED to huddle around and watch?
There are a few girls
who I have had the PRIVILEGE to watch play softball.
Honest, it’s an honor, just to watch them gut it out.
I talked to the Mom of one of these girls last week. I said, “It’s such a privilege to watch her play.”
And it is.
Watching someone play full out,
like NOBODY is watching
is like a show…
something you enjoy,
can’t take your eyes off of,
want to keep binge-ing on.
These girls are ALWAYS the ones playing with courage,
charging with conviction,
taking a TON of chances, and
leaving it ALL on the field.
Not unlike your favorite guru in YOUR industry. RIGHT?
Not unlike how you gather round and binge on whatever content YOUR favorite guru, or preacher or personality is creating. RIGHT?
Not entirely unlike the attention YOU WANT to attract. RIGHT?
So, over to you.
