Where do I start with this one?
First, I’m not UNIVERSALLY liked.
(I know, shocker, right?)
So, my personality alone is NOT going to deliver what I enjoy: LONG TERM clients who stay with me (and refer) for NEARLY two decades now.
I’m not super fun, or show-y, or entertaining.
So, you know… I gotta deliver results.
MEASURABLE results.
And like it or not,
YOUR value in the marketplace
CAN BE MEASURED.
Your income is the DIRECT REFLECTION of how valuable your market thinks you are… as well as how clearly and confidently you communicate / project / convey that value.
Gulp.
But also…
tru dat.
So, yeah… I DO ask our members to measure their income.
NOT ONLY does it indicate where you might need to tweak something:
— either the value you ACTUALLY deliver; or
— how you communicate that value to the marketplace (which is MOSTLY the case when money is not where it should be)
Your income SHOULD reflect the value you bring into the world.
But also, your income matters. It affects decisions you make and options that either ARE or ARE NOT available to you. So, your income SHOULD make you proud. It SHOULD provide the freedom to live according to your priorities, to fund the health care choices you trust, to put your kids in the school you feel would BEST serve them, to live the life you love.
THIS IS WHY a core Women Who WOW Way principle is MEASUREMENT.
Tracking income, yes.
And also… tracking other measurable numbers.
# of clients. (increasing or decreasing)
# of referrals. (increasing or decreasing)
# of OPSP (Other People’s Stages and Pages) opportunities scheduled.
# of leads coming in (again… increasing or decreasing.)
And yes, there’s a very good reason why MOST business coaches, masterminds and programs focus on other non-measurable stuff…. 😊 Cool stuff. Ego stuff.
Because it is Stuff that can NEVER be quantified. It reminds me of a quote in the movie “My Best Friend’s Girl” where the sales rep says, “The coolest thing about air purifiers is that you can never prove that it doesn’t work.” Same with a LOT of these business programs.
but here’s the thing…
even if you love that coach
and even if he tickles and strokes your ego SO EXPERTLY every single week,
and even if he encourages you NOT to measure (warning sign whether in business coaching or weight loss or any other such thing.)…
YOU STILL KNOW.
You see the stagnant or dwindling sales..
or interest. And it stinks.
You FEEL the fact that you STILL can’t report a financial win to your partner. (“This business is still COSTING us money??”)
You keep pushing down the doubt…
having to overcome
the measurable reality
that is in your face every single day,
regardless of how you’re trying to avoid looking it in the eye.
THEY DO NOT SEE YOUR VALUE.
THEY DO NOT THINK YOU’RE WORTH PAYING.
It’s true,
and it is also fixable.
Before the facebook “I’m offended” brigade comes my way, I’m not saying that money or income REFLECTS your actual value. I”m saying it reflects what THE MARKET thinks of your value. Two very different things.
It reminds me of my dating history.
TRUTH: some guys DID NOT SEE my value.
DEEPER TRUTH: I wasn’t “worth it” to them.
And it hurt.
BUT that didn’t DIMINISH my value.
I just had to HOLD it.
Chris came along and I was still l the same “nightmare” I’d always been. But he RECOGNiZED my value. My craziness wasn’t just something he could put up with, he liked that too. 😊
The key if your income is embarrassing you, keeping you up at night, frustrating you because you’re just not hitting that next level…. is to STRIP IT ALL BACK.
TO THE CORE value you DELIVER,
and then to BUILD A CLEAR, VISIBLE SHRINE
to that value…
so that it is seen and recognized.
I’m up to a little something something. If you want in,
consider it a back stage pass
to my work and world,
to the behind the scenes,
to the HOW I make the monies.
And how you can too.
On repeat and on demand.
And how to do it in a way that is sOOOOOOOO you,
SO full of ease and flow,
SO natural
and not even the least little bit “cringe-y.”
This isn’t really going to be a teaching “thing,”
but more of an excavation.
I will hold the flashlight,
but you will lead the way.
I am THINKING it will be 1:1 .
but I am also considering a very small group.
MUST BE WILLING TO drop all of the shoulds…
all of the RULES…
most of what you’ve been taught….
and have the COURAGE
to do it your own way.
If this is you…
