You can hate me now or later, but the truth is that “I was born for it” or “I was born for more.” means NOTHING … if you don’t fully back yourself and your destiny with your DECISIONS and DOING.
While I’m speaking heresy,
how you make DECISIONS
about ONE thing is how you make decisions about EVERYthing.
Stay with me.
Right now,
some people are disappointed in me.
You may be one of them.
They’re downright ANGRY about the fact that I don’t appear “adequately” or “reasonably” scared of the Coronavirus. It is a VERY curious thing how easily those who consider themselves WOKE are triggered these days.
But… no one who has known me for even 2 weeks ought to be surprised by my response to this latest world-wide situation. No one ought to be surprised by my confidence, by my APPALLING certainty… or by the fact that MY decision making process is neither suspended NOR intimidated in the face of challenging circumstances. And CERTAiNLY for the love of accurate thinking, no one ought be surprised by the fact that peer pressure is finding my walls damn hard to breach.
This is not a new or 2020 thing. It’s a ME thing. You see, over my public career, I’ve written AND published:
📝 160+ articles that mention the deep, bone-rotting virus of FEAR… and my response to it.
📝2 that mention anarchy
📝 1 that directly answers whether or not I AM an anarchist.
📝 Countless articles that encourage “screw the rules” as an actual strategy worth following
📝 110+ that mention freedom and my insistence on it
📝 20 + articles that focus on the importance of independent — and ACCURATE — thinking.
How I DECIDE anything
is how I decide EVERYTHING,
and taking a public poll to see what’s popular or applauded
is never part of my process.
In truth, I believe that simple — neutral– observation demonstrates that MOST people are WRONG when it comes to health, money and relationships. Hence, the SHOCKING and increasing percentages of obesity, bankruptcy and broken relationships.
As Mark Twain said, “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it’s time to pause and reflect.” As Ralph Waldo Emerson encouraged, I have managed to “in the midst of a crowd, keep with PERFECT SWEETNESS the independence of solitude.”
So that’s MY lens… guided by a core value of freedom and independence.
But don’t judge me so harshly. We ALL have a unique LENS through which we DECIDE things.
And your DESTINY is dependent on how you decide.
This is not to debate whether you HAVE an incredible destiny. I believe YOUR destiny is awe-inspiring AND was planted within your DNA before you were born. I believe whatever you DREAM is possible… FOR YOU…. and (for my “religious” people) on THIS side of heaven.
BUT…
whether or not you will FULFILL that destiny… well, that depends on the habits of how you DECIDE and DO.
Your destiny is YOURS…
but it is NOT a passive
or guaranteed
destination.
So, let’s look at how YOUR DESTINY is dependent on YOUR HABITS of DECISION and DOING.
Typically, people make decisions through one of three approaches, and take action accordingly.
NONE of us fall into the first approach, so I won’t spend much time on it, but it’s worth mentioning…. because a lot of people do.
THE LAZY APPROACH: This is where you simply wait for things to “happen” to you. Waiting until decisions are literally made for you, or conditions forced upon you. We’re “praying on it” or “doing research,” but in the end…. people deciding and doing through the “lazy lens” have no intention of carving their own roads and will be very content following others in line. Whatever happens, happens.
If they were to reach THEIR destiny, it would have to be by happy accident, and destinies are DELIBERATE destinations. So, we’re going to move on.
PAST PRESERVATION: This approach essentially protects the status quo, keeps one foot grounded in what is familiar to you… and allows for MINOR shifts and increase over time. It often feels “wise” and measured and values comfort over accomplishment.
If you make decisions based on what you’ve done in the past, you’ll likely be very hesitant to leave your comfort zone or create entirely new levels of success. You’re looking backwards for guidance.
TRUTH: I have to guard against relying too heavily on this approach. I LIKE comfy / cozy. If we could live 600 years, we may be able to fulfill our destiny with this step-by-small-step approach. But we don’t have that long. So, PAST PRESERVATION decision making will keep us from truly fulfilling our destiny.
But the INFURIATING part about THIS approach to decisions and doing is that it will get you close enough to SEE your destiny… but it will always feel out of reach. I’ve wasted much time deciding through the lens of PAST PRESERVATION.
The FUTURE CREATION lens is where I aim to be, always. This lens allows you to ALIGN every decision with your core values and goals. It is a approach that three asks direct questions:
— Which option aligns with my CORE values as a person?
and
— Which option aligns with where i’m GOING? With the FUTURE I’m creating? with the DESTINY i’m DARING to create?
and
— What am I willing to decide and do NOW?
Because when THESE questions are answered,
the decision is CLEAR.
I OFTEN hear from women who say they “don’t know,”
but we DO know.
Using these questions,
there is never any REAL uncertainty…
ONLY a lack of courage.
Because walking decisions-based-on-destiny out
will OFTEN lead you to be criticized and judged.
It will reveal you as MISSION-focused rather than circumstance-dependent.
Why would they care???
Because YOUR focus and determination…
will reveal their own.
Deciding based on your DESTINY
will be resented by the majority of people,
especially at first.
You may be viewed as a trouble maker,
EVEN accused of making it harder on the very people you’re trying to help.
and you’ve got to be willing to do it anyway.

and so many more have led the way.
Let’s decide and do courageously.
Let’s DARE to fulfill our DESTINY.
